Sahel Relief Fund
 
This spring, the Sahel received insufficient rainfall: meaning that there is not enough water to sustain crops, livestock, and people. Although the Sahel often struggles with food insecurity, this year's circumstances are far worse. Combined with other man-made factors, the Sahel entered the early stages of what could be a terrible famine. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Sichuan province in China on April 20, 2013 at 8:02 am local time. This occurred in the same region as the devastating 7.8 earthquake in 2008. A tornado, perhaps a mile wide, caused massive destruction in Moore, OK, a suburb outside of Oklahoma City. Cyclone Phailin Relief Fund for India
 
Cyclone Phailin struck the eastern coast of India with winds as high as 136 mph (220 km/h) and a storm surge of 11 feet (3.4 m). The storm system is half the size of India and has destroyed thousands of homes, displacing tens of thousands of people. Vanuatu Cyclone Relief Fund
 
Cyclone Pam has caused significant damage in Vanuatu, an island nation in the South Pacific. At least 8 people have been killed by the storm, and thousands of people have been displaced. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but aid groups are mobilizing to provide support and emergency supplies to the people impacted by the storm.
