My name is Cedric Yumba, a GlobalGiving Representative in Southeast Asia for the year 2018. I will be traveling to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia to visit more than 50 GlobalGiving nonprofit partners addressing a variety of community issues. My impact includes meeting communities change makers to discuss ways we would support their organizations, running 8 workshops to train our current partners, acquiring new strategic partners and much more.
There are so many nonprofit organisations doing awesome work in Southeast Asia, especially the ones we support at GlobalGiving. Many of these organisations are working in local communities without visibility and resources. As a Field Intern, I am able to meet in person and offer face-to-face support to these organisations.
Once I get in the field, I will inform these organisations of available resources that would allow them to maximize their efforts. Secondly, I will run in-person workshops, visits to projects and one-on-one consultations, on how GlobalGiving's resources and crowdfunding platform would be used for their growth and sustainable impacts.
