The Million Moms Challenge is a call to action to engage a million Americans with millions of moms in the developing world around issues that impact pregnancy, childbirth and children's health. The goal is to create a global community, building on the common dream that every mother shares for her child: a healthy pregnancy, a safe birth and a baby who will survive and thrive.
A woman dies every 90 seconds from complications in pregnancy or childbirth. 90% of deaths are preventable. As many as 3.3 million babies die before they turn even one month old.
The Million Moms Fund will support world-class nonprofit organizations in their groundbreaking work to ensure healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries for millions of women. These dedicated organizations train midwives and health workers, provide much-needed vaccinations and nutritional support for newborns and children, increase access to healthcare for expecting mothers and help prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
The Million Moms Fund will help millions of women and children in the developing world by promoting healthy pregnancies, safe childbirth, and children who survive and thrive.
