On July 27th, 2022 a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Philippines, killing at least five people and injuring more than 120 others. Survivors need access to emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine in addition to longer term recovery assistance. All donations to this fund will exclusively support local relief and recovery efforts from this earthquake.
Government agencies estimate more than 21,000 people have been impacted by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Luzon, Philippines on July 27th, 2022. The earthquake triggered at least 58 landslides across 200 towns in 15 provinces. Infrastructure damages exceed $687 million dollars. Many of our vetted nonprofit partners require help responding to survivors' needs, and have already asked for support in funding their relief and recovery efforts on the ground.
All donations to this fund will support recovery and relief efforts in the region. Initially, the fund will help first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will transition to support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted local organizations.

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
