A massive volcano eruption near Tonga caused a deadly tsunami, which destroyed homes and changed the geography of the Pacific island nation. Ash from the eruption has been sent miles into the sky and is falling across Tonga. Your donation to the Tonga Volcano and Tsunami Relief Fund will support emergency response and long-term recovery.
Every home on one of Tonga's outer islands has been destroyed. At least three people were killed, and many injured, in the powerful explosion and tsunami. Information from Tonga remains limited after its undersea communications cable was damaged.
All donations to this fund will support relief and recovery efforts in Tonga and other countries impacted by the tsunami. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs emerge, we will support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in the impacted area.
