The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda are facing a rapidly escalating Ebola outbreak - one that is already placing enormous strain on vulnerable communities and a fragile health system. With at least 131 deaths and 500 cases already reported, experts warn of a public health emergency of international concern. Recent aid cuts and ongoing humanitarian crises in the region will only further compound needs. Your donation will provide essential support to impacted communities.
A fast-spreading Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda has triggered a health emergency, with suspected cases and deaths rising rapidly as health systems strained by recent aid cuts struggle to contain the virus. The deadly Bundibugyo strain - which has no approved vaccine or treatment - is spreading through conflict-hit regions, threatening wider regional transmission and deepening fears across Central Africa as medical teams race to treat patients and trace infections.
Your donation to the Ebola Crisis Relief Fund will ensure that aid organizations on the ground in affected regions have the resources they need to support communities impacted by the outbreak with emergency care and basic needs, as well as to support broader humanitarian needs and ongoing recovery throughout this crisis-affected region - especially for marginalized and underserved populations most impacted by the public health needs, displacement, and conflict.

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
