Thousands of people in the Philippines are now homeless, as the Category 5 tropical storm battered multiple provinces. Local officials and emergency responders in the Philippines are doing their best to operate temporary shelters amid the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.
All donations to this fund will support recovery and relief efforts for Typhoon Rai (locally known as Odette). Initially, funds will help first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. The fund will later transition to support longer-term recovery efforts run primarily by local, vetted organizations in the communities affected.
How Your Donation Will Be Used
When you donate to GlobalGiving's Central Philippines Typhoon Rai / Odette Fund, your donation will be used to:
- Provide food and emergency medical supplies to people and animals
- Support temporary shelter and emergency supplies to displaced families
- Provide support to front-line workers, such as meals and gas
- Meet other needs as they emerge
