Recurring monsoon rains, severe storms, and flooding continue to impact communities across India and Pakistan, causing fatalities, displacement, and widespread damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Recent deadly storms across parts of northern India are the latest reminder of the growing risks facing communities across the region. This fund will provide urgent relief to affected communities and support long-term recovery as climate-driven flooding and severe weather events continue.
Severe weather across India and Pakistan regularly destroys homes, roads, crops, and essential infrastructure, leaving families displaced and communities isolated. In recent years, increasingly intense rainfall, flash floods, landslides, and storms have contributed to rising humanitarian needs across the region. Vulnerable and underserved communities are often the hardest hit, facing repeated displacement, economic strain, and barriers to recovery as climate-driven storms continue.
Donations to the India and Pakistan Flood Relief Fund will support emergency response and long-term recovery efforts in storm-affected communities. Immediate assistance will include search and rescue support, shelter, food and clean water distribution, and medical care for displaced families. Longer term, this fund will help local organizations restore homes and community infrastructure, strengthen livelihoods, and support community-led resilience initiatives for populations most affected.

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
