On September 18, 2022, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan, killing at least one person and injuring more than 140 people. Survivors need access to emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine. All donations to this fund will exclusively support local relief and recovery efforts from this earthquake.
The 6.8 earthquake, following an earlier 6.4 earthquake, caused at least one apartment building and two bridges to collapse in Hualien County, Taiwan. There was also extensive damage to train rails, roads, and other important infrastructure in all affected areas, leaving many stranded in precarious situations.
All donations to this fund will support recovery and relief efforts in Taiwan. Initially, the fund will help first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will transition to support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted local organizations.
