Dear Donor,
Thank you so much for the support. As Uganda continues responding to an Ebola outbreak with 20 confirmed cases, supporting survivors remains an important part of the response. Recovery does not end when a patient leaves a treatment facility. Many survivors require continued community support to rebuild their lives, while communities also benefit from accurate information that reduces fear and stigma.
Thanks to your generous support, community engagement activities continue to promote acceptance, compassion, and understanding toward Ebola survivors. Local leaders, health workers, and community volunteers are sharing accurate information that medically cleared survivors can safely return to their families and resume their daily lives. These awareness efforts are helping reduce discrimination while encouraging people experiencing symptoms to seek treatment early without fear of rejection.
15 survivors in Uganda are also being connected with community support networks that encourage emotional recovery and social reintegration. Their experiences are becoming powerful testimonies that reinforce the importance of early diagnosis, timely treatment, and cooperation with health authorities.
Across border communities in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, these reintegration efforts are strengthening trust between communities and health responders. Families are learning that compassion is an essential part of outbreak recovery and that supporting survivors contributes to stronger community resilience.
Your continued support is restoring hope to individuals who have overcome Ebola while helping communities heal together. Every survivor welcomed back with dignity becomes a symbol that recovery is possible and that united communities are stronger than fear.
