Dear Donor,
The latest Ebola situation report identifies renewed activity in Tshopo Province after a period of relatively low transmission.
WHO reports that Tshopo has recorded 42 confirmed cases and 15 deaths across seven of its 23 health zones, with renewed activity emerging from a low baseline.
Development Alert continues emphasizing the importance of community vigilance when transmission patterns change.
Our preparedness activities promote early reporting, accurate health information, hygiene and cooperation with professional health teams.
Renewed activity demonstrates why response systems must remain operational even in locations where case numbers had previously declined.
Community members should not wait for large numbers of cases before taking health concerns seriously.
Early awareness is one of the strongest protections communities can build for themselves.
