Development Alert continues promoting community understanding of the importance of safe healthcare environments.
People should be encouraged to seek appropriate professional medical care and cooperate with infection-prevention measures.
Health workers require protection because they are essential to diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, contact tracing and infection prevention.
Our community engagement also discourages people from attempting to provide high-risk care to suspected Ebola patients without appropriate training and protective equipment.
A protected health worker is better positioned to protect many other people.
