Dear donor,
Thank you so much for supporting Safe Schools and Healthy Learning Environments During the Ebola Response
Education remains essential even during public health emergencies, and protecting children while they learn continues to be one of our highest priorities. As Uganda manages 20 confirmed Ebola cases, your generous support is helping schools strengthen infection prevention measures while ensuring learners receive accurate health education that benefits entire communities.
Schools continue serving as important centers for health promotion. Teachers are reinforcing lessons on proper handwashing, personal hygiene, and recognizing Ebola symptoms while encouraging students to share this knowledge with their families. Handwashing facilities installed at school entrances and strategic locations throughout school compounds are helping establish healthy routines that students practice every day.
School health clubs are also becoming active champions of disease prevention by organizing awareness activities, hygiene demonstrations, and peer education sessions. Parents have expressed appreciation for these initiatives, noting that children are returning home with valuable information that encourages healthier practices within households.
Local education authorities continue collaborating with health officials to ensure schools remain prepared to respond appropriately if health concerns arise. This coordination strengthens both education and public health systems while minimizing disruption to learning.
Your support is creating lasting impact beyond the classroom. By protecting children and empowering them with lifesaving knowledge, you are helping build healthier families, stronger schools, and more resilient communities capable of preventing Ebola transmission today while preparing for future health challenges.
