Dear Donor,
The latest Ebola figures from the Democratic Republic of Congo demonstrate the continuing importance of community preparedness.
As of 27 September 2026, WHO reported 8,116 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases and 3,924 deaths in the DRC, with 2,088 people having recovered. The outbreak continues to affect communities across seven provinces.
Development Alert continues supporting community-level preparedness through health education, hygiene promotion, early reporting and responsible risk communication.
Our approach recognizes that communities are not simply recipients of emergency assistance. They are important partners in identifying health concerns, sharing accurate information and connecting vulnerable households with appropriate services.
We continue encouraging people to seek professional healthcare when concerning symptoms appear and to cooperate with trained health workers and surveillance teams.
Your support helps communities remain informed, vigilant and prepared during this prolonged public health emergency.
