Dear Donor,
The latest Ebola developments demonstrate that sustained community action remains essential.
WHO's data through 20 September recorded 7,733 confirmed cases and 3,732 deaths in the DRC, while ECDC data through 21 September reported 7,773 confirmed cases and 3,759 deaths.
The outbreak now affects 63 health zones across seven provinces, with Dungu Health Zone in Haut-Uélé the newest affected area.
Development Alert remains committed to supporting community-level preparedness through health education, hygiene promotion, early reporting, risk communication, stigma reduction, contact-tracing cooperation and cross-border awareness.
We recognize the important work being carried out by governments, WHO, Africa CDC, ECDC, healthcare workers, researchers and humanitarian partners.
Our role is to strengthen the community systems that help formal response efforts reach people effectively.
With your continued support, we can keep communities informed, prepared and connected to appropriate health-response systems throughout this evolving emergency
