ASHRAYA NEELBAGH SCHOOL
RAYALPAD, KOLAR DISTRICT, KARNATAKA
REPORT FOR THE QUARTER JANUARY 2016 TO MARCH 2016.
January- 2016- The students at Neelbagh School brought in the New Year with a New Year party on New Year’s Eve. The students presented a cultural programme and a special lunch was enjoyed by all.
The Class X students started their preparations for the Board exams which are conducted in April 2016. The students have 3 preparatory exams at different levels- school, district and State to get them accustomed to the type of question paper formats, how to space their time so that they can complete the papers without stress.
The monthly sports competition was organized on 23rd of this month. In the Volley ball competition held for boys yellow house stood first and in the Throw ball held for girls Greenhouse came first. The folk songs competition was organized on 26th of this month for the groups in the school. In the junior section red house won 1st place, Green house 2nd place and in senior group Yellow 1st place and Green 2nd place.
On the 07th of this month cultural programmes were performed by students of class 7th during the morning assembly. The drama, songs and dances were appreciated by one and all.
On 26th of this month Republic day was celebrated. Karan Misra, a volunteer from Canada hoisted the national flag; the students organised cultural programmes for the occasion.
Karnataka State Govt. - Chief Minister’s Function
On the 8th of this month, 2 Class X, SSLC Students, Girish Babu and Nagendra Babu who achieved the distinction of being Kolar district toppers in the State Board Exams in April 2015were honoured by the State Government at a special function and felicitated personally by the Chief Minister of the State; the students were given a certificate, a trophy, wrist watch and Twenty thousand cash award. Karnataka Chief Minister Mr. Siddaramaiah, Education minister Mr.Kageri and 10 ministers attended the function. The Chief Minister congratulated the School students, management and staff on their impressive performance.
February 2016
This month was a busy month at Neelbagh:
Monthly cultural and sports events were conducted. Basketball competition for the boys and Kho Kho for the girls; a fancy dress competition for different groups of students and prizes were distributed for the winners in all the events.
Career guidance Workshop
On 18th &19th of this month Mrs. Mamata Mutt (Corporate Trainer) conducted a career guidance workshop for the school leaving 10th class students. She talked about different college and vocational courses available to the students; group and individual counselling with each student and the parent was also done to explore potential, interest and aptitude of each student.
Visitors
Mrs. Philomena Lobo IAS (Director Secondary Education Department of Public Education) visited School on 11th of this month. She was very happy with the achievements of the students and staff.
Teachers and 10th grade students training workshop
Teachers and 10th grade students training workshop was conducted by Poornaprajna Institute of Faculty Improvement on 27th of this month. The workshop Modules explained were time management in writing exams, facts ofemotional intelligence and how to face board exams.
Dance and Theatre workshop
Students from 5thto 9th grade were encouraged to participate in this workshop. It was a source of fun and entertainment for the children. This workshop was conducted by Mr.Anand on 28th and 29th of this month. The students a few folk dances.
Volunteer
Mr. Karan Joy Misra volunteered as an English teacher for secondary school and stayed at the school for a period of 5 weeks, starting from the 15th January to 28th February 2016. He taught the students spoken English and helped them with the subject; he also played games and sports with the children.
March 2016
This is the end f the academic year at Neelbagh- the Class X students start their Board exams and the rest of the students get ready for the summer break. The school closes for the summer holidays from March 15 to May 15 2016.
The monthly sports competition and quiz competitions were organised.
Class X students Fare well function:
The Fare well function for the 12th batch of Class X students was held on the 03rd of this month. Mr. Thopalli Narayanaswami (Kolar Zilla Panchayat President) was Chief Guest. Ms. Shanthi Chacko, Ms. Dechu Banerjee and Ms. Leena Thomas (Project in charge BOSCH) were the guests. The students presented a colourful cultural programme. The Class X students spoke about their experiences studying in Neelbagh School .Conduct certificates were distributed to the Class X students.
BOSCH Programme
On the 22nd of this month Boschorganised an exhibition of science and vocational training activities and the students displayed Science models, Carpentry, craft and tailoring items. Two students talked about the School.
