The students have settled into the new academic year and classes have begun in earnest. Along with the academics the students have also participated in the various Sports and cultural programs.
Sports:
In July Kabaddi competition was organized for the boys and throw ball for the girls. Students from different houses won prizes.
The students also participated in the Hobli level games competitions and both primary and high school students qualified to participate in the Taluk level games in the following events- 100 mts, 200mts., 400 mts. relay; shuttle cock; cricket, basketball and yoga.
In August the students participated in the Taluk level sports competitions and both boys and girls qualified to participate at the District level games in the following events 100 mts, 200mts., and 400mts., shuttle cock and Yoga.
CELEBRATIONS:
Annual day:
In the month of August traditionally Annual Day is celebrated at Neelbagh. On this occasion visitors, students and parents are present and prizes for academics, sports and other achievements are distributed; an exhibition of all the talent of the students is showcased through the cultural program and the exhibition. On display are various science and math models; hand craft from the vocational training- carpentry, embroidery, and craft are also displayed. This is an opportunity for the parents and visitors to see first hand the variety of activities the students are exposed to.
This year Mr. K. K. Lakhani, the Executive Leader of AXA Technologies was the Chief Guest . The program was a great success.
Independence Day was also celebrated . After the flag hoisting by the students and staff the children had a cultural program and sweets were distributed. The local Panchayat President – Mr. Amarayana was the Chief Guest.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated on the 5th of September. The students entertained both the teaching and non teaching staff with a variety entertainment program.
Neelbagh Students participated in a Science Fair hosted by GE volunteers of the Bangalore Chapter ; they organized Prabodhana- 14th Annual Science Fair at GE India Technology Centre, Bangalore. Over 500 students from 17 Govt. and 12 NGO funded schools displayed their working models on “ Vision 2020- tribute to Dr. A Kalam” Neelbagh School received the 2nd prize for their project “Education and Healthcare directed towards illiteracy, social security and overall health for the population”. The prize was a projector.
WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS.
In the month of July both teachers and students of Class X attended a workshop conducted by Poornaprajna Institute of Faculty Improvement - Applying English Language various modules were introduced on how to improve communication, listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading etc .
In August the teachers had a workshop conducted by the same Institute on “Applying theory of multiple Intelligence to teaching and learning and Disciplining with dignity.
Water Crisis :
The challenges with water mentioned during the last quarter was addressed by the local district administration who funded the digging of a new bore well. We are very grateful for the continuing support.
The students are looking forward to the Dusehra holidays after the first semester exams.
