Report for the quarter October to December 2015
Ashraya Neelbagh School ,Rayalpad, Kolar District Karnataka
October – As it is the season for festivals in India the School is closed from the 14th of October till the end of the month so that the students can spend the time with their families.
Prior to closing the Parent teachers meeting was held. Parents met the subject teachers- the high school teachers discussed the students strengths and weaknesses and the measures they are taking to offer remedial support. All other parents had a general discussion with the teachers regarding their children’s overall progress.
On October 1st a painting competition was conducted to commemorate World Elder’s Day- the students were sensitized on the changing scenario in India for the elderly and simple communication tips were shared with them to improve intergeneration bonding.
Sports and cultural activities were conducted as inter house competitions- kabbadi and soft ball and skit and prizes were given.
November –The students and staff returned from their break .
Academics- a review of the preparations for the Board exams for the Class X students was done with the teachers and strategy to focus on the Board exams preparations was decided.
November 1st was celebrated as State Hood day and November 14th as Children ‘s day. Students planned a short cultural program.
One of Neelbagh’s corporate donors invited over 200 students to participate in the CSR cultural program where the employees of the company showcased their talents. The students enjoyed the wide variety of performances.
The staff from Azim Premji School for Migrant workers visited Neelbagh School to see how the school was being run and to share and exchange ideas.
We are happy to report that the School had a large
December - Apart form the regular sports and cultural activities the students participated in the On 12th of Saturday the Inter schools Sports meet competitions were held in Prabodhana for educational institutions in GE Campus, Bangalore. Our students performed remarkably well getting the 1st place in more than 18 events out of 20 the GE Sports Championship events and winning Overallteam GE Championship award.
Saalumarada Thimmakka visit,
0n 12th of December Saalumarada Thimmakka Neelbagh School .Saalumarada Thimmakka is 106 years old. She is an Indian environmentalist from the state of Karnataka, noted for her work in planting and tending to 1384 banyan trees along a four-kilometre stretch of highway between Hulikal and Kudur. Saalumarada Thimmakka was relatively unknown, until she received the National Citizens Award in 1996. A film was made on her life.
