My name is Nelson, I'm 8 years old,  and I am from a very small town, many hours away from Medellin, Colombia. Now we are in Medellin, so that my mother can work, We share the house with many other people, with my mother and younger brother, my mom works selling flowers in the street, in order to pay for a room in the house we live in. Every day my brother and I go to the Corporación Superarse, where they give us a lot of support, they give us food, clothes, they help us to study, they take care of us and they take us to the doctor, they also help my mother.

I went to camp with my classmates and we had a lot of fun, I learned to swim, and was taught about the value of true friendship and honesty, and other things like that.

During my time here, every day we go happy because they take care of us a lot and make us parties, give us gifts, learn and always help us in whatever we need, my teachers and counselors give me for free everything we need and worry about my well being and my growth.   My brother and I,  know that we have to study to work and help my mom later.

For Christmas,. I would like some headphones to listen to music and a skateboard for my brother and for my mom I would like something that would make her happy.

The children's needs have been covered all year round with financial contributions from people who want to change the world one child at a time. Thanks to them, these 100 boys and girls, can overcome their obstacles and get ahead in life.

More than 150 poor children have benefited this year, with activities, food, recreation, sports and education. Their families cannot guarantee the well-being of children and sometimes leave them alone to go to work with risks of abuse, abuse or drug addiction in childhood stages.

Given the social reality of Medellin (Colombia) and many children who are arriving in the city seeking help from Venezuela. Children are exposed to situations of high psychosocial risk. They find protection by carrying out activities such as:
Pedagogical support, Food and school reinforcement.
Monitoring and individual work for each child at the psychosocial level according to their particular needs.
Actions to promote health and prevent diseases, promote sexual and reproductive health, prevent alcohol and psychoactive substances, nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits.
Strengthening life skills: emphasizing the development of coping skills, decision making, critical thinking and autonomy to prevent recidivism in self-destructive behaviors
Activities to stimulate and develop the skills, abilities and vocational, sporting and artistic interests of each child or adolescent.
Cultural, sports and recreational development opportunities for the construction of meaning and consolidation of their life projects
Advice to the family or network of support to give continuity to all these processes from home.

WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN CONTINUE WORKING FOR THE WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN.

Although there are government policies and institutional actions, a high number of children in Colombia, live at risk or do not have families that guarantee adequate protection, are abandoned or experience serious situations of violence or abuse, which does not allow them to be safe in their natural environment, so they need protection programs that welcome them and provide them with opportunities for their education and integral development.

Through different programs and special celebrations, participating children can experience an interaction, based on family values such as respect, discipline, generosity, and above all a lot of solidarity and love.

All participating families are strengthened during the year, with a training plan, executed by the Corporation SUPERARSE, on issues such as: Application of parenting guidelines, authority management, healthy habits, first aid, leisure time management, nutrition balanced, correct with love, among other issues.

In July we celebrate family day as a family strengthening strategy and next October 31, in SUPERARSE we will have a party, "THE DAY OF SWEET" a day dedicated to children, full of music, shows, costumes, candies, food, cake, balloons and many surprises for them.

With your contribution you can make many children happy.   Give them the chance to live an unforgettable MOMENTS.

I am Luisa, I am 9 years old and I live in Medellin- Colombia, I attend a day home where they take care of me, they give me food, school support and everything I need to not be alone in my house or in the street, because I live in a very poor and dangerous neighborhood of the city, every day I am going to SUPERARSE, the home is a very old house, built in 1946, it is a big house, where there is a lot of space, but it is very old and we need to adapt it and improve the bathrooms, so we will have better quality for life to 100 children that go to the home, with this change we will also contribute to the environmental commitment with the planet, in saving water and energy.

We need your support to get U$ 8,000, this is the cost of build 10 bathrooms again. We are sure that we will achieve them, join our BONUS DAY campaign this coming July 18, with your donations during this day, we will be able to obtain prizes in money and reach our goal faster.

"We trust in your generosity to improve the lives of 100 children who live at risk of vulnerability in Colombia, each donated dollar brings us closer to the goal. SUPPORT THEM"

Many children are arriving in the city of Medellin with their parents from Venezuela in conditions of poverty, displacement and without work, forcing them to work in the street and live in a situation of high risk. In the CORPORACION SUPERARSE we have begun to provide protection to some of them, so that they do not live in situations of vulnerability that can affect their lives even more.

Thanks to the contributions we received in 2018, we were able to assist 207 children of Colombia y Venezuela, living in conditions of risk and poverty, providing them with food, clothing, health care, education, sports and recreation, psychological support and, above all, much love, to overcome their difficulties and build your life project.

With all their contributions the dreams of these children could become reality.
