Colombia is a country with high levels of social and economic inequality, almost 30% of the Colombian population is classified in conditions of poverty, of which 10% are classified as extreme poverty, which is linked to situations of social and political violence and family, abandonment of children, displacement, discrimination, child labor, lack of study opportunities and other situations that directly affect many children and adolescents.
We focus our work, on children and adolescents (7 and 18 years old) preventing school desertion and demotivation, links to armed groups, drug addiction, prostitution, sexual abuse, abandonment, displacement, family conflicts, associated with problems of poverty. Throughout the year, children, young people and their families receive food and school support and other assistance to improve their living conditions. Each year more than 2,000 people are benefiting in different care programs.
Project has managed to reduce the dropout rate and child labor in the streets, achieving superior education and preparation to thrive. Each year more than children and their families benefit from the care. Generating rights prevention strategies that contribute to the strengthening of families and social networks where children reach their integral human development. Since 1970 there are almost 6000 children who have received attention and love, taking them out of the risks of living in streets.
