Dear Donor,
Contact follow-up remains central to Ebola control.
ECDC's latest update reports that 84.5% of identified contacts were under follow-up in affected provinces of the DRC.
Development Alert continues promoting understanding of contact tracing among communities.
People identified as contacts may not be infected, and monitoring allows trained health teams to identify possible illness quickly.
Community cooperation is therefore essential.
Our awareness efforts encourage families to provide accurate information and communicate openly with trained health workers.
We also emphasize confidentiality, dignity and respect for people undergoing monitoring.
Effective contact follow-up depends not only on technical systems, but also on community trust.
