Quarterly Report: Monsoon is here again.

By Deb Jarrett | Founder and CEO

Ghungroo Recovering
Ghungroo Recovering

Thanks to your support, over the past 3 months we have done the following:

Sterilizations - 250

Rabies Vaccinations - 358

Rescues - 136

Humane Education Programs - 3 schools and 90 children

Pet Cases - 83

Treatments - 2031

 And more..

Some good news, Ghungroo, who we rescued over 2 months ago, has finally recovered from mange and has put much-needed meat on his bones. All thanks to your support.

In addition, we asked you for help with Omy 3 weeks ago. His case was one of the worst we had seen in years - maggots had eaten away the flesh on his face and part of his nose. Today, I am happy to report that there is no infection, and his skin is starting to grow back.

We will have to wait and see how things progress, but today he is a happy playful dog.

A lot of major work went on at DAR this month.

Thanks to a grant from The Benindi Fund, we were able to upgrade our water system so we never run out of water again! Also, we were able to rebuild our shed where our dog food kitchen is and many of our resident dogs live in order to keep them nice and warm and dry.

In addition, we sterilized 44 dogs, helped 24 pets, provided 626 treatments, and gave our dogs daily walks, meals, treats, and love, all thanks to your support.

Shweta is so happy that we won't run out of water. Scottie is very thankful for the new roof and walls to keep him warm and dry.

MONSOON MAGGOT WOUND FUNDRAISER: SAVE THE DATE

It is that time of year again when we have to prepare for the approximate 50 maggot wound cases we will see during monsoon season.

July 12th will be our annual fundraiser for monsoon. On this day, all donations of $100 and up will be matched, but please remember, every little bit counts when it comes to saving lives. Matching will start at July 12, 2023, at 09:00:00 EDT (click to see time in your area) and will end when matching funds run out, or on July 12, 2023, at 23:59:59 EDT, whichever comes first.

As always, we cannot thank each and every one of you enough for allowing us to continue this work. Your support fills our hearts and encourages us to keep going.
