Boda Boda Network as a Frontline Prevention System
Boda boda riders form one of the most active transport networks in Uganda, interacting with dozens of passengers daily. With your support, we have transformed these networks into frontline prevention systems.
Previously, boda boda stages had limited hygiene infrastructure, increasing the risk of Ebola transmission through frequent contact. With your contributions, we have:
As a result, some stages are now serving hundreds of daily users, including both riders and passengers. Riders are actively promoting hand hygiene and encouraging passengers to use the facilities.
This shift has turned high-contact transport hubs into controlled, safer environments that actively reduce transmission risk.
Your support is not only protecting individuals—it is influencing an entire movement network that connects communities.
This is a powerful multiplier effect, where one intervention protects thousands of daily interactions.
