Part 1: GENERAL INFORMATION
Executive summary
Providing vocational skills training to 90 youth from northern Uganda within 2 years from the inception of this project still fall short by 34 as on 30th December 2023 following our records of admitted and trained youth by the intake for the period 2021 to 2023.
We received zero youth from our partner CARE International and The Innovation Village to take up any of our courses but have communication of bringing a new lot in 2024 scheduled to begin on 5th February 2024.
We received $271.85 donations majorly from our monthly donors. There were one donations during the Giving Tuesday in November 2023 and one disbursement during this period of reporting. Our total expenses during the period of reporting is USD147.68. We also received a disbursement of USD323.83.
The opportunities for new partnership continue to unfold as different organisations hear about Family Harvest Foundation and its partnership with GlobalGiving Foundation and with the global agenda of shifting the power we expect play a key role in community development.

1.2: Progress towards Objectives
1.2.1 Objective 1: To provide skills training to 90 youth with at least 60% females, in different skills trade mentioned. 08 youth enrolled and being trained.
1.2.2 Objective 2: To provide partial educational scholarships to 08 youth in one skill: Art and Craft training tooking place.
We received 7 donations during this reporting period with gross amount of USD271.85 from our two monthly donors and a one time donor on the GG donor platform who donated during the Giving Tuesday of November 2023. We have no active Micro or Macro Project at the moment though we plan to submit.
1.3:0 Project continuations
1.3. 1 The need for continued partial payment of school fees continues to become practical as we aim towards self sustainability despite the hardship that is seen with the reduced number of trainees as a result of abject poverty in the community where Government of Uganda's Statistics records reveals a 63% poverty level in northern Uganda, in northern Uganda specifcally Acholi subregion.

Part 2: OTHER INFORMATION
2.1: Participation
a. We expect the 08 new youth registered in term three 2023 to complete studies. A Partnership with the Innovation Village is still pending to support 225 youth in different courses.
2.3: Gender Equity
a. Gender issues remain a paramount concept in every aspect of our project and shall remain at 60:40 with a focus to encourage more women to take part in our activities. The majority of our participants are becoming females. We participated in the Girls Not Brides Uganda 2023 NORTHERN REGION GIRLS SUMMIT held on 23rd November 2023.
2.4: Child Centeredness and Rights Based Approaches
a. Working in collaboration with Save the Children International, Movement for Community-Led Development Uganda (MCLDU), Gulu NGO Forum and the GlobalGiving child centered resources provide us good opportunities to train even child mothers or non mothers gain knowledge needed for children all over the world and at our facilitiy as well as in the community.
2.5: Challenges, Lessons Learnt and dissemination
a. Successful and productive partnership continues to exist between GGF, MCLDU, Gulu NGO Forum and FHF. The new partnership with The Innovation Village so far is still pending from their head office in Kampala, Uganda.
b.The Movement for Community Led-Development (MCLD), CARE International, WEZESHA Impact, Save the Children International, Gulu District Local Govenment, Nwoya District Local Government and Gulu City Council have continued to be partners with different project/program activities and remained active friends of FHF.
2.6: Emerging Advocacy Issues:
a. We have continued participating in the advocacy program to end stunting for children from 0 to 5 years old in partnership with MCLDU through the Right2Grow project in Nwoya District Local Government in the third year of the five year project. Our advocacy project supported by the RighttoGrow project financed by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A data collection execrise gathering community voices for making an informed decisions to source for support for the community was carried out between November and December 2023.
b. We have a collaboration with Save the Childen International advocating to end Teenage pregnancies and Child marriage in Nwoya District Local Government for the first year by implementing the National Strategy to End Teenage Pregnacies and Child Marriages. Our community volunteer advocates have continued to persue parents and local community leaders to enforce the surge to fight the practice.
c. Our new partner organisation Girls Not Brides is involving us is a series of advocacy program to end child marriages in Uganda.
d. We were invloved in data colection to gather Community Voices to provide appropriate community oriented support in 2024 and the years ahead on nutrition, food security and WASH.
2.7: Organizational Changes:
a. Plans to establish a permanent site for the school/office space is discussed and a search is in its final stage.
b. The Board, location staff and management structures remained in force and are active but with the death of one board member, a search for one to replace is on.
c. Website hosting and subscription have remained active with difficulty in financing the payment and paid todate.
d. Instagram, Facebook and twitter publicity continued though on a low pace given lack of a trained IT personnel.
e. Staffs have no salary arrears while the Landlord have accumulated rental arrears for the period October- December 2023.
2.8: Other Comments:
a. A survey result conducted in two locations in Gulu City sub urban primary schools and 3 Primary School in rural Gulu district revealed a statistics of how much need to be done for the youth in term of vocational education and livelihood in Uganda. 60% of those who sat Primary seven are unable to progress to lower level secondary due to lack of fees and other requirements. They cannot even afford to pay the low rated school fees for vocational education and so remain at home tending to peasant garden works.
b. Our EMIS registration number for the vocational school is 4A000052 being a requirement by the Ministry of Education Science Sports and Technology to recognise any institution conducting educational services.
