PROJECT TITLE: LEARN TO EARN! TRADES TRAINING IN GULU, UGANDA

Part 1: GENERAL INFORMATION

Summary:

The September 2022 Little by Little was one of the activities we participated in along side our skills training and the ongoing community advocacy program on nutrition for children under 5. The 23 trainees are nearing the end to their training sessions in the different trades this year.

The students statistics have remained: Tailoring 09 all female; hairdressing 04 female; Construction 05 male and motorcycle mechanic 05 male with a new set of 65 youth due to join.

Reporting the donations of September 2022: two of our monthly donors, three new donors and one returning donor made donations. Four donations were made during the Little by Little of September 2022 campagn period for a total of USD68.00. No dsibursement sufficed in the past 27days of this month. We have made expeditures to exhust the funds meant for the microproject funding the tailoring tutors allowances and for this project USD31.50 have been used to pay the tailoring tutor.

Part 2: OTHER INFORMATION

2.1: Participation

a. We expect 65 youth from CARE of lot 2 to join before the end of term three of 2022 while the 23 youth continue to study. Our forth and fifth Microproject which was retired its donations still continue supporting this project. The Monitoring team from The Movement for Community Led-Development(MCLD) to our school is yet to earn more support for youth from this disadvantaged region with a poverty index of 68% compared to other regions in Uganda. A meeting with the USAID team is equally creating a profitable partnership.

2.3: Gender Equity

a. Gender issues remain at the forefront in every aspect of our project and shall remain at 60:40. We also apply the international code of conduct on Child abuse, women's rights, gender equality among others.

2.4: Child Centeredness and Rights Based Approaches:

a. The approach on children and right based is paramount as we apply both the GlobalGiving (GGF), The Movement for Community Led-Development (MCLD) and other international agencies to continually upgade.

2.5: Challenges, Lessons Learnt and dissemination:

a. With additional brand new knowledge on Network Weaver, Invisible Hope Uganda is among the newest partner to join our list.

b. We maintain our continued learning from GlobalGiving Foundation resourceful information hub

c. Nine trainees have continued to enjoy the sponsorship accorded to them with the support from the Micro project that paying for the tutors allowances.

 2.6: Emerging Advocacy Issues:

a. We are a liberal organisation and are free to join at will any advocacy issues. We are participating in the advocacy to reduce stunting on children below the age of 5 years by advocating for food, nutrition and WASH practices in Nwoya district in the Right2Grow project of the Movement for Community Led-Development.

2.7: Organizational Changes:

a. This ’’Learn to Earn! Trades training in Gulu, Uganda project’’ continues to shine among the youth in the project site and will continue to be. We shall build on new Microproject in 2023.

b. The Board of Trustees have remained the same, while a new person was enlisted to the Board of Directors, new Principal Tutor recruited, 1 new staff recruited and management structures continued as normal. The Board of Trustees and Board of Directors meeting were held and resolution made.

c. Our website hosting and subscription plan remains active as we are able to pay for it timely with support from The Hunger Project Uganda/Movement for Community Led-Development.

d. Facebook and twitter publicity became active with a foreign supporter due to GGF name on FHF and we contnue to be notice on facebook and twitter as well.

e. Staffs allowances were paid up to date that is end of August 2022 and the same for September 2022.

f. We have reserved the name of our organisation with the Uganda Registration Services Buarue of Uganda to be registered with the Uganda National Non- Governmental Organisation Board in the name of REELMA Family Harvest Foundation Limited being a company registered by gurantee. But no certificate have yet been issued.

2.8: Other Comments:

Objective partnership with GGF, CARE International, Tools with a Mission (TWAM) and The Hunger Project /The Movement for Community Led-Development is making FHF be noticed among the global community. Other CBOs like Invisible Hope Uganda, Youth Development Organisation and NGOs like RENA, Children Care Uganda and Rotary International are making FHF appear on the global map.
