Hello Everyone,

Greetings of the day,

My name is Manoj, I have been heading Udayan Care Information Technology Programme for the last 14 years, at present, there are 39 staff members accompanying me to take this programme towards greater heights. 2nd wave of Corona hit the capital (Delhi NCR) compelling us to undergo lockdown yet again, all of us were ensured to abide by the guidelines, pertaining to lockdown, though not comprising on giving our participation to the fullest, helping the government, overcome this life-threatening situation. We have tried to implement the concept of work from home furthermore possible as per the availability of resources and reach each employee of the Udayan Care IT Centre programme to give their optimum towards achieving the organizational, as well as programme goal. We have taken prompt actions to fight COVID 19 and ensure beneficiary & staff engagement with multiple activities for their enhancement. During this period, we connected with beneficiaries using a digital format to provide them training in IT courses and English communication simultaneous, collaborated with other agencies like CSRBox, NIIT Foundation, ICICI Foundation & IBM SkillsBuild to give exposure to students, ensuring their holistic development.

To deal with the situation Rajnish came to organize a capacity building training session for our IT centre staff members, he picked an ideal topic "Mindfulness" to make oneself resilient to fight the pandemic. Rajnish brings with him over 30 years of experience in profound multinationals like TCS, American Express, Aviva etc. He has played different roles from being a CIO, COO and CEO. The session was completely interactive where Rajnish explained how the conscious & subconscious minds play a vital role in our daily life, the major take from the session was that the "quality of thoughts of subconscious mind elevates our mental health by managing stress and defeating negativity", for the prosperity of subconscious mind we should eradicate the habit of jealousy, comparison and develop an attitude of gratitude. A 2 hours’ productive session become an energizer for all of us to boost up our energy towards work accompanied by maintaining a positive attitude.

We always attempt to promote a creative environment through meaningful and innovative activities, on 5th Jun'21, our students took the initiative to celebrate "World Environment Day" our IT Centres students’ got connected virtually to show their posters which they were made to create awareness in the community to save the environment, few of them planted saplings at their home and nearby for a greener environment. During the training of trainee, we always paid attention to invite industry expert to hold session worth learning for our students, these sessions help us as well as our students to know the current requirement of industry and how they can prepare themselves and head for a promising career in the relevant field, On 14th May we conducted a session on "Basics of Designing". Spearheaded by Himanshu working at the capacity of a lead designer with XR Central, holding an experience of 3 years to create impactful products. Alongside the basics, he also threw light on UX designing and typography. Briefed on the concept of prediction to conceptualization, each step was taken with an in-depth explanation.

We have specifically conducted this session for our Vinod Nagar IT Centre students where we precisely focus to train the trainees in the Graphic & Print Design course.  50 participants including existing and alumni attend this session virtually, resulting in an interactive workshop. All questions put forth by the students have been answered ardently and gave an opportunity for learning as well.

COVID 19 and sudden lockdown affected everyone's life but when we see people lost their employment and struggling to manage their household expenses it's shaken up gravely but our placement team did great by connecting with good employers to ensure placement of our students, recently my team shared a story about a girl her name is Jyoti who completed Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) course from our Noida IT Centre she grew up in Khora colony where she is putting up with her younger brother and parents, her father works as a barber (Hairdresser) to raise his family of 4 members. He switched to a big town with a purpose to give better education to his children and fulfilled the same. Jyoti completed her graduation from the University of Delhi through a distance learning programme.

After completion of her course from our IT centre, she has started working with a food outlet called "Rebel Food" which is located in New Kondli (East Delhi), She joined there as a "Production Associate" due to lockdown her office was closed but Jyoti is express her gratitude towards Almighty as she got an opportunity to do work from home now she is handling their billing work and earning Rs. 13500 per month.

Hello everyone,

Greetings of the day!!!

My name is Savita, In the year 2016, I was working as a teacher in one of the private institutions where my package was Rs. 60000 per annum. Since I was not equipped with the necessary soft and employability skills, I was finding it difficult to secure a decent job with a good stipend. Due to financial constraints back at my home, I was hesitant to even ask for financial support from my family members to pursue some technical courses to get better job opportunities. My life was turned upside down when I came to know about Udayan Care through one of my school friends, whereas I visited Vinod Nagar IT Centre, there I met with the centre coordinator who told me about Graphic & Print Design course, that time I had no idea about this course but since my school, I always enjoyed doing some creativity on paper, I qualified the entrance exam and started pursuing Graphic & Print Design course.

After completion of my course, I got an internship opportunity in ADR Publisher & Distributor Pvt Ltd (Ghaziabad) with help of Udayan Care placement cell, this opportunity became a boon for me, today I am managing their work of Journal Binding for final print independently, at the designation of a Sr. Designer with Rs.22000 per month. My journey with Udayan Care is a never-ending process, in 2018 I nominated myself to be part of the Udayan Care Alumni Network and took responsibility for holding the hands of my peers who also come from the underserved community with dreams to learn a specific skills training course for their better future. In these 4 years, ADR Publisher has been doing really good and expanded their projects, whenever manpower requirement comes from my employer I always give priority to call candidates from Udayan Care IT Centre. Pradeep, Sachin & Megha (Udayan Care Alumni) have also joined the ADRs designing team as graphic designers. Our company’s chairperson Shalini always says “ADR has recruited staff members from Udayan Care IT Centre and they become Kohinoor (precious diamond) for our company, they worked really hard and play a vital role in our success. I am always thankful to all the candidates who are working with us and Udayan Care for their unconditional support.”

Recently I visited Udayan Care’s social media platform there I came across a post that was uploaded on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the day was celebrated in Udayan Care’s Kurukshetra & Noida IT Centre. In our Kurukshetra IT centre which is completely dedicated to girls training in IT courses, 25 girl students were a part of self-defence training session to make themselves capable to protect themselves from eve-teasing, bullying etc. The training was organized by a black belt champion Pradhuman, during a long hour session, our girls practised middle basic, basic kicks, lower punch & gripping etc. In the supervision of Pradhuman. Whereas our Noida centre followed the Women’s Day 2021 theme choose to challenge, boys and girls took pledge along with our English Communication faculty Hansika, they all pledged that “We strongly believe that respect should be for the person, not the gender. Men, Women, & LGBT all are equal. Come and join us to choose the challenge to create believe in community we all were equal and will always be equal” same day few of our students performed an act which was showcased how women are participating in nations growth. I scrolled down and found another post which was conducted for the students who are pursuing an E-Accounting course from Udayan Care’s IT Centre, the session was dedicated to give an in-depth brief about Goods & Service Tax (GST) which is a major component of Udayan Care’s E-Accounting training curriculum. The session was taken by, Ashish an Assistant Professor at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. He has completed his PhD in Economics from the same Institute. He teaches courses on Finance, Economics with a deep interest in the intersectionality of economics, culture, and politics. 66 students and 7 trainers became part of this interactive training session. Ashish started the session with an introduction for about 10 minutes’ briefing about the GST followed by the same he asked questions from the students to give them clarity against their queries. This two-way interaction helped the students with a better understanding of the topic. In all, it was a good session that gave clarity on the topic taken.

Hello Everyone,

Greetings of the day!!!

My name is Nandan, I reside at Navjivan Camp which is considered to be a slum community at Govind Puri, Delhi. And I got connected with Udayan Care IT Centre through one of my friends and with the constant support from Udayan Care IT Centre, Govind Puri, I have successfully completed the Tally PRO course. After completing my schooling, I decided to pursue my graduation in commerce stream from Delhi University through the distance learning programme due to my family’s economic condition whereas my father is the sole breadwinner of the family who works as a helper in a factory in order to meet family’s needs and expectations.

Due to COVID-19, my father lost his job and thus there was no income at home and the situation got worse during this pandemic. Despite the lockdown & pandemic, the Udayan Care IT team continued their work towards us and supported us in whatever ways they could. I was blessed and happy to be a part of Udayan Care IT team, as this pandemic did not stop my trainer to train me virtually and complete my course on time, post completion of my course I got an opportunity through Udayan Care placement cell to appear for an interview in a Chartered Accountant firm for an internship and I got selected at “ND Kapoor & Co” as an Account-Intern where I would receive a stipend too.

Though I have got the placement, still I am being trained to build my capacity, acquire professional etiquette, and develop my personality. During my computer, I have spoken on hobbies where I enjoy drawing sketches and even I have participated in many activities which were held at our IT centre (before COVID). During one of our training session, I was informed by my trainer about the “Hero Ki Diwali” an event which is going to be organized by Hero MotoCorp, I found this activity quite interesting and thus gave it a thought of participating in it.

Hero MotoCorp (HMCL) has been in association with Udayan Care since 2007, in 2017 our Govind Puri computer learning centre was established to train underserved community youth in job-specific IT courses and provide digital literacy training to school going students. As we all are struggling to overcome the situations due to COVID 19 and taking safe precautionary measures to keep ourselves safe. To make a positive and happy environment on the occasion of Diwali Hero MotoCorp took a wonderful initiative through a striking event called “Hero Ki Diwali” which was an online talent show for underprivileged children under the Hero Umbrella. The show invites the budding talent of children (9 to 18 years) and provides them a platform to showcase their talent and get exposure to the corporate.

They conducted 4 competitions categories such as Music/Dance/Acting or Poetry Recitation/Drawing or painting. Each competition category was based on a theme like for painting and drawing the theme was “Environment conservation” for other performing arts the theme was “Local heritage and cultural promotion”. The whole event was completely organized virtually and team Hero created a platform where students had to upload their paintings, dance videos, music audios & videos for participation. In total there were 69 participants from 8 NGOs partners of Hero MotoCorp who participated in Hero Ki Diwali, and 4 students participated from Udayan Care IT Centre. I had participated in a Drawing competition as per my interest where I made a poster showing save the environment, two students Santosh and Kajal also participated in Drawing category but one of my batchmate Ragini beautifully dressed up at her home and performed on a folk song (lokgeet), her sister helped to shoot her performance through mobile, our centre staff helped us to upload our video on the portal.

Dated 12th Nov Hero Ki Diwali invited all the participants on a single platform where Vijay Sir from HMCL interacted with all the participants and motivated us for taking up meaningful activities in our lives and to stay happy. We were all nominated for some prize. Overall the event was beautifully structured to celebrate Diwali, following proper distancing and stay free from crackers, to save our environment.  I have been associated with many activities during my training in Udayan Care IT Centre, and I always ensure my presence in every industry expert session, workshop, co-curricular activities which were conducted to ensure our holistic development. Recently I came to know Udayan Care collaborated with NIIT Foundation to conduct a “Financial Literacy” workshop which is of two hours structured session to cover multiple topics related to insurance, benefits of savings, etc. On 19th Nov’20, Suryakant Sir from NIIT Foundation organized a virtual workshop session, with around 80 trainees who participated from four centres, namely West Vinod Nagar, West Delhi, South Delhi, and Noida. Suryakant Sir started the session with a small brief about the topics that he would cover during the session, the workshop started with a video which was exquisitely made using animated characters called Ginni and Vijay, who explained about the income and expenditure. It was about the importance of income, expense, and particularly savings. The participants were acquainted with the financial diary in which one can maintain the details of the expense so that unnecessary expenses can be avoided. The difference between the need and want was also discussed to understand the analysis of the expense and the importance of Savings, backed up with the fact that how and why there is utmost need to save. In the next section, participants were introduced about the various insurance like life insurance and general insurance, under the head of general insurance category and other types of insurance like car, shops, house, and ornaments are included and the importance of Mediclaim insurance was cleared too. We all were made aware of where the claimants can complain if the insurance money is not released at the time of need. The workshop ended with the Q&A session where the participants cleared their doubts; altogether it was very interactive and beneficial for the participants as they gained knowledge about diverse finances like income, expense, savings, Insurance, investments, and the Govt policies in a diminutive span of two hours.

Hello Everyone,

Greetings of the day!!

My name is Nishant, and I work with an IT Centre named Udayan Care Youth Leadership Centre where we provide training in graphic & print design courses to youth from underserved communities. Through this IT Centre, students who are pursuing their graduation through distance learning gets a platform to acquire and equip themselves with job-specific training that would help them to grow and get employed in an organization to sustain their livelihood. This course is specifically designed for the youth (age group of 19-24) to cover structured contents like - Adobe software, soft skills, English communication & financial literacy.

The IT Centre was started in January 2016 and was running smoothly, however since 21st March 2020 the day when the lockdown was declared across the country, it was a phase where each one of us was struggling to understand how to move forward during this pandemic as no one was prepared for this situation and never could have imagined that everyone would be at their homes and all our training, workshops, and activities came to standstill. During this situation, we all ensured to abide by the rules and help the government to overcome this pandemic. We have tried to implement the concept of work from home as per the availability of resources and reach out to Udayan Care’s employees to give their optimum to achieve their organizational, as well as programme goal.

During this current scenario, we reached out to our beneficiaries with the help of technology and began our training, simultaneously we also connected our beneficiaries with some industry experts and organizations to attend webinars & workshop sessions for their holistic development. Apart from training of our trainees, we decided to dedicate specific hours for the capacity building of our trainers, as we have always been following the TOT module in the IT Centre programme to add quality in our training module as per industry standard and train our trainers to the best. This period of lockdown has helped each one of us to learn new things and update our knowledge & skills.

Our approach through various activities during the COVID 19 pandemic crisis -

Training of trainees - Our project team has put in a lot of effort & hard work to engage beneficiaries in training courses which have been chosen by them. Out of 733 students more than 450 (61%) students are attending online training sessions regularly which were conducted by faculties, the number of daily attendance was short initially but our trainer’s efforts was tremendous where it has reached over and above our target. During the period of COVID-19, IT Training faculties followed the alternate days’ class schedule to cover theory part & practical training session, simultaneous our soft skills faculty have worked hard to make a good base of English grammar and conducted various group discussions, role-plays to open their horizon for making students to speak in English.

Workshops & activities were the core components of our programme which we used to ensure the holistic development of our students, as our target audience is coming from an underserved community where youth have completed their schooling from state government schools and pursuing their graduation through distance learning due to noninvolvement in regular academic, institutional and professional activity these youth’s seemed to be on a path with no horizon, they faced difficulties to hold a common interaction where some of them were not even able to introduce themselves properly.

Our continuous efforts helped us to reach out to the volunteers who have always been ready to support us and be a part of our cause. Volunteers, organizations, donor agencies & corporates have supported us for conducting workshops and expert sessions on specific and relevant topics like - stress management, financial literacy, digital marketing, email writing, etc. These sessions become a big motivation for our beneficiaries which taught them how people can find the right path to make their life smooth in this pandemic and keeping themselves safe from COVID-19.

Financial literacy session by ICICI Foundation - Financial literacy is a core component of our training module which we have been following in IT Centers during the training of trainees, we are really thankful to ICICI Foundation and their staff for volunteering and conducting a wonderful session which they had conducted for our IT Centers students. More than 80 students participated in the session and it was really a learning curve for them. They have learned about Savings and Current accounts in detail, Term and Fixed deposits along with the current rate of interest prevailing in the market.

The session was conducted by Jitender along with one of the retired senior officers from the State Bank of India.  Our students have also learned about different ways to transfer money from one account to another through NEFT, RTGS. They even got familiar with the terms used in banking sectors. Also, with the help of Jitender and the senior officer, our students have gained knowledge on the Insurance sector where they have learned the types of insurance, its categories, and also the importance of going for insurance coverage whether it is life or non-life. The experts have shared and made our students aware of the fraudulent activities related to credit cards (Rupay, Visa, and Master Card) which happen regularly and also shared showed them some videos to give a clear picture on the subject.

World Environment Day 5th Jun’20

A day of celebration. It is a day upon which, for about forty years, people across the world have advocated and acted for a healthy environment. From beach clean-ups to mass tree-planting, to marches, individuals, communities, and government have come out to stand together to protect our environment.

This year, we cannot be taken to the beaches, forests, and streets. We had to stay at home, maintaining social distance and mark World Environment Day virtually. Keeping the same in mind, students of our IT Centers took initiative to celebrate world environment day, on this occasion they created some posters and planted trees at their home where they share the pictures on social media pages to spread awareness among other community members to take care of our environment.

At the end we found some miracles of hope during unlock 1.0, our placement team started working actively to find the job opportunities for those beneficiaries who have completed their course, our few students got employed during this pandemic situation when most of the people have lost their jobs, and most of our beneficiaries’ parents were in crisis and some lost their earning source. One of our beneficiary Ram who is putting up with his 2 siblings and parents in a single room accommodation, which is a servant quarter in Sarita Vihar where his father is working as a security guard to meet the family needs. Ram completed his schooling from a government school and is pursuing his graduation (B.com) through distance learning program from Delhi University. Once he met one of his school friends and through him he had an encounter with Udayan Care Computer Learning Centre, and without giving a second thought he decided to join a professional course and upgrading his skills which will help him to support his father financially and also become a responsible citizen.

He got enrolled in the Tally PRO course in mid-February'20 and was found really curious to attend his classes but after a month when the whole country went under lockdown, our center was closed for our beneficiaries. Udayan Care IT Centre Programme has always worked hard in favor of their trainees, finally, it was decided to provide online training to trainees, where it was observed that Ram performed really well during the classes and he ensured to attend all the sessions. His hard work and dedication towards the course helped him to secure a job in a CA firm called "Soban & Associates” with the help of Udayan Care placement cell.

Ram is extremely happy to get this opportunity, during the internship he is also getting Rs. 7000 stipend which is a big help for him to bear his household expense at this present situation. He is earnestly thankful to his trainers and specially Udayan Care for bringing a ray of hope in his life.

I am really thankful to all the sponsors and associates who have continuously been giving their support to achieve our goal.

Prince (Beneficiary)
Prince (Beneficiary)

Hello everyone,

Greetings of the day!!!

My name is Prince, I reside at Durgapuri (North East Delhi) along with my parents and younger brother. After completing my schooling, I was looking for an opportunity to pursue a professional training course which would help me to find a decent job through which I can provide financial assistance to my parents whereby I partake in bearing household expenses. My parents have struggled a lot in raising us and bear our education expenses, my father is working in a factory as labor and earlier my mother used to do some work from home (stitching) but when I and my younger brother decided to pursue commerce stream in 11th grade, that was the time when our coaching fee became an extra burden for my family due to which my mother decided to work in the same factory where my father was working to fulfill our needs and give us a better life.

One day, I was discussing my situation with one of my close friend who then too an initiative to connect me with Udayan Care Computer Learning Center, initially I had joined Durgapuri IT center for completing Basic IT course, after that, I got an opportunity to join Graphic Designing course at Vinod Nagar IT Center. 6 Months of intense training gave me wings to fly and as soon as I completed my training in Graphic Designing I got selected in "FANZINEINDIA" as a graphic designer with Rs. 10,000/- salary per month. It was just the beginning of my career, my parents felt proud and were overjoyed because our life started experiencing a pleasant change, where it would improve our livelihood.

I am so grateful to Udayan Care and all the supporters who have provided us a platform where we groom ourselves in specific skills as per our interest and start growing in our career. After receiving my 1st salary, I went to Vinod Nagar Center (Graphics Design Center) to meet Nishant Chauhan sir ( Our Graphic Faculty) to express my gratitude because he has invested his time on me as to train me in a manner which has changed my life completely, the same day I met a resource person Ravi Rautela, who was there to conduct a session for the existing batch of Graphic Designing.

Ravi Rautela is a Graduate and an Engineer in Electronics, with rich corporate and Educational Experience of more than 15 years he is now a known face in industry and academic institution. He has delivered workshops and seminars on various topics aiming at strengthening the corporate skills of this generation and helping them to put a firm step in the industry. He started his career with Jetking Ltd, followed by HCL Career Development Centre. He has imparted training to large number of students in 4 years with a trainer base of more than 100. During his tenure, he has visited many colleges in north India and conducted workshops and training programs in colleges. He was kind enough to voluntarily conduct a one-day workshop at our Udayan Care Vinod Nagar Centre on 11th January 2020, titled was “Design Contest” It was a structure three hours workshop and 30 students took part in the same. The topics covered were making Logos, Designing letter Heads, visiting cards and ID Cards. He also conducted an icebreaker session to ensure that students get comfortable. The workshop commenced with an activity where the students were divided into small teams and were asked to give a name to their specified team along with a slogan accompanied with action. Later the students were asked to share about their past and future in the form of a sketch, next Mr. Rautela shared his experience and he gave some tips to become a good graphic designer, he further elucidated on what qualities one should possess to become a successful person in future. The students found it a very fruitful workshop and gave very positive feedback on it.

The session was ended on a beautiful note by the end of the day, and as a gesture of kindness, I donated a small part of my salary in "Alumni Network Fund" which actually gave me a satisfaction and I believe that through this I can benefit of lives of other children and help them to acquire skills and give back to society.
