Greetings!
Hello everyone!

Udayan Care is a trusted non-profit organization committed to empowering vulnerable children, youth, and women by making young lives shine. Anchored in family strengthening as its core philosophy, Udayan Care works to ensure that every individual grows up in a safe, nurturing environment that fosters dignity and self-reliance.

With operations across 17 states and 44 cities in India, Udayan Care runs diverse, impact-driven programs delivered under 3 key work verticals - child protection and alternative care, education, skilling and employability, and advocacy, research and training

Together, with committed individuals and institutions, Udayan Care continues to champion the right of every child and youth to a life of opportunity, protection, and belonging.

The Skilling and Livelihood Program continues to strengthen communities across six states through 22 skilling centres, delivering industry-aligned skill training combined with employability-focused interventions. The program goes beyond traditional skill training to support the holistic development of recipients and consistently ensures placement for over 70% of all certified recipients. In addition, sustained post-placement support and a strong alumni network enable recipients to build long-term career pathways and industry connections.

In the month of January, the Skilling & Livelihood Program hosted the Grand Alumni Meet (GAM) 2026 under the theme Footsteps for My Future Path, bringing together over 600 alumni.
The meet traced every recipient’s journey—from enrolment and training to becoming an alumnus who gives back. The felicitation segment recognised alumni for their contributions as mentors, volunteers, and advocates, along with individuals who demonstrated exceptional resilience.

The need for such large-scale alumni engagement platforms lies in fostering a sense of belonging, enabling peer mentorship, and building professional networks that extend beyond the skilling centres. GAM 2026 demonstrated how alumni continue to play a vital role in supporting current recipients through opportunities, mentorship, and guidance, while also strengthening the program ecosystem.

“Being part of the Alumni Meet reminded me how far I’ve come. It gave me the confidence to mentor others and stay connected to opportunities I wouldn’t have found alone,” shared an alumnus participant.

In March on the occasion of International Women’s Day the program conducted Gender Sensitization and Inequality at the Workplace workshops across centres, with participation from both men and women. These sessions addressed an essential gap in workforce readiness—understanding gender dynamics and fostering respectful, inclusive workplaces.

Participants engaged in open discussions and activities that helped them better understand each other's experiences and challenges. This initiative proved to be critical in preparing young adults not just for employment, but for real workplace environments where sensitivity, respect, and awareness directly influence both personal growth and professional success. By integrating these sessions into training, the program ensures recipients are better equipped to navigate workplace realities with confidence and empathy.

“This workshop helped me better understand the perspectives of other genders and how we can support each other” shared a recipient who attended the workshop.

These initiatives are an important part of our program. When we talk about holistic development, we don’t just mean helping someone get a job, it goes beyond that. We want them to be able to stay, grow, and succeed in their work, and also carry these learnings into their everyday lives. In doing so, they can create positive change in their communities and pass it on to others.
