Annual Alumni Meet
Annual Alumni Meet

Greetings!

Hello everyone!

I joined Udayan Care in January 2025 to serve as Associate Director for the Skilling and Livelihood Program. I bring 15 years of experience working with various INGOs, NGOs, and CSR initiatives, and I have managed education and skilling projects. My first interaction with the Udayan Care team and senior leadership occurred during the Annual Alumni Meet, held on January 5, 2025, at Arya Auditorium, South Delhi. This event was particularly special as it celebrated 20 years of transformation through the IT Program. The celebration brought together a vibrant gathering of 450 alumni—including 35 from the Kasna IT Centre—along with 85 staff members, donors, partners, employers, the Board of Trustees, and Udayan Care’s leadership team. As the program’s flagship annual celebration, the Alumni Meet is organized with the key objective of instilling the spirit of ‘Giving Back’ among students who have benefitted from the generous support of our donors and partners. It also aims to inspire alumni to voluntarily contribute towards uplifting society. The event began with a grand opening ceremony, featuring a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, followed by a captivating musical role-play and storytelling performance by 33 current students from various skill training centers. Reinforcing our mission to build a culture of contribution among youth, we honored 20 outstanding individuals with the title of "Alumni of the Year 2025" for their remarkable mentorship and for extending their time and networks to support students’ career development. We were especially honored to welcome IPS Meeran as our Guest of Honour. Her inspiring message encouraging young women to become skilled and financially independent left a powerful impact on all attendees, motivating students to continue their journey of growth and empowerment.

Following the successful organization of the Annual Alumni Meet, the team once again demonstrated remarkable dedication by hosting another significant event—the Graduation Ceremony—within just a few weeks. This event celebrated the achievements of 147 students who successfully completed their training across IT, BFSI, and Telecom courses at Udayan Care’s Manesar, Dundahera (Gurugram), and Kondli (Delhi) centres. The ceremony was filled with engaging activities, including a thoughtful role-play performance highlighting the importance of skill development in today’s evolving job market. A special highlight of the event was the participation of five alumni from the Broadband Technician and Mobile Repair training programs, who shared their inspiring journeys, reflecting on how the training empowered them professionally and personally. The certificate distribution ceremony was even more meaningful, with 10 parents invited to present the certificates to their children, adding a deeply emotional and personal touch to the occasion. We were honoured to have Ms. Sakshi (name changed), Company Secretary at a Telecom major, as our esteemed guest. She engaged warmly with the students, appreciated their enthusiasm, and congratulated the centre staff for their unwavering commitment to delivering high-impact, transformative training programs. The event not only celebrated student success but also reinforced our partners' and families' strong support and encouragement, which continues to drive Udayan Care’s mission forward.

In March, the female staff members of our IT Centres took a commendable lead in organizing a special celebration for International Women’s Day, aligning with the global theme "Accelerate Action." The celebration's highlight was a Typing Speed Competition designed exclusively for female students enrolled in the Data Entry Operator (DEO) course across all Udayan Care Skill Development Centres. The objective was to encourage healthy competition while strengthening the employability skills of young women pursuing vocational training. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 50 shortlisted students, who visited Udayan Care’s Head Office to compete in a structured, multi-round contest. The competition culminated in an exciting final round, where the top three participants were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, along with gift hampers as a token of appreciation for their performance and dedication. Adding immense value to the event, Shruti (name changed), an alumna from the 2021–22 batch of Udayan Care IT Centre and currently working as a Senior Associate at Genpact, Noida, delivered an engaging and insightful session. She shared her personal journey, shedding light on how to prepare for opportunities in multinational companies, the recruitment process, and the growth trajectory in Band IV and Band V roles. Her tips on cracking interviews and starting careers with competitive salaries deeply resonated with the students. The event concluded on an empowering and inspiring note. It was a fulfilling experience to witness such dedication and energy from our students and alumni, many of whom made time to participate and embody the spirit of “giving back.” It reinforced the power of community, mentorship, and the ongoing impact of our skilling programs.
