Kato-san, The President of the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School, shares a short movie introducing view spots around the school made by the scholarship students and some of their classmates. The students speak in both Japanese and English as they introduce popular sites around Sendai.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson will visit the YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School in April and look forward to meeting the students and hearing of their studies and plans for their future.
Many of the students need scholarships to attend the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School because of economic hardships, some caused by the 2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and lately because of the pandemic they lost the chance to work after school. The Sendai YMCA and TAMF provide these scholarships jointly.
Thank you for the support you have given these students. It is your help which makes it possible for them to pursue their chosen careers.

TAMF has published a ten year commemorative book which compiles many activities and stories of those who participated in the fund and benefited from it’s programs. The essays include those of board members, exchange students, and partners in the efforts to help students, families and schools in Ishinomaki to recover from the disaster. We’d like to offer it to any donors who are interested in receiving it. If you’re interested please email your name and address to info@tamf.jp.
