Kato-san, The President of the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School, is very happy to introduce five new scholarship students. Three students graduated earlier this year and began their careers. He shares video messages from four of the five new Taylor Anderson Memorial Scholarship students who are now gaining practical experience in their summer internships.
Please check this YouTube link below for four of the five student’s (we will share Yuina's in the next report!) messages:
He reports that the Scholarship Students are active and motivated. Their first names are:
Akane
Reo
Honoka
Aoi
Yuina
In our last report Kato-san shared that Endo-san, TAMF adviser and Taylor bunko bookshelf maker, would soon dedicate their new Taylor Anderson Reading Corner (Taylor bunko). The 33rd Taylor Bunko was dedicated on March 15th when Endo-san presented Kato-san with a voucher for books and the bookshelves. The bunko compliments the English studies standards of the program which are useful in the tourism industry the students will enter.
2024 July Bonus Day Campaign – July 10, 2024
The 2024 July Bonus Day campaign is a one-day crowdfunding campaign designed to celebrate high-dollar donors and help GlobalGiving partners move smaller-dollar donors up to new giving heights. Accordingly, donations between $100 and $1,000 will count on Bonus Day, and the higher the donation, the higher the match!
If you plan to give, please give early, starting at 9:00AM EDT and ending at 11:59 PM EDT on July 10th, because matching funds will likely run out before the end of the day.
Many of the students need scholarships to attend the Sendai YMCA International Hotel and Pastry School because of economic hardships, some caused by the 2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The Sendai YMCA and TAMF provide these scholarships jointly.
Thank you for the support you have given these students. It is your help which makes it possible for them to pursue their chosen careers.
