Dear Valued Supporter,
We’re excited to share a major update on the Rwanda tree-planting initiative led by RWAYDAVO. Building on the success of our Plant 40,000 Trees in Northern Rwanda project—which spans sectors like Cyinzuzi, Burega, Kiyanza, Mugambazi, and Ntarabana—we are launching a new phase to plant and maintain 50,000 additional trees across Rulindo District.
What We’ve Achieved So Far
As part of an initial phase, we are currently preparing more than 20,000 saplings of eucaryptus, reinforcing our foundation for large-scale planting (see attached photos).
Why This Matters
Environmental Impact: Rwanda faces pressing issues such as soil degradation, erosion, and landslides due to deforestation in its hilly landscapes. This reforestation will help mitigate these challenges, improve biodiversity, and support climate resilience.
Community Benefits: Tree planting supports sustainable livelihoods through agroforestry, increased soil fertility, and economic opportunities—aligning with broader agroforestry efforts in Rulindo district.
How You Can Support
Your donation will directly impact:
The planting, care, and long-term maintenance of 50,000 trees in six sectors: Cyinzuzi, Burega, Butangamundu, Kiyanza, Ntarabana, and Remera.
Strengthening environmental restoration, empowering local communities, and creating sustainable economic opportunities.
What Comes Next
Finalizing nursery operations and planting logistics.
Mobilizing community members and schools for scheduled planting events.
Tracking tree growth and ensuring long-term care and protection.
Your continued support is vital in helping us restore Rulindo’s green landscapes and nurture future resilience. Thank you for being a cornerstone of our mission.
Warm regards,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
