Dear Valued Patrons,
Thank you sincerely for the continued support you have shown toward our Rwanda Reforestation Project. Your generosity has made meaningful progress possible.
We are pleased to share that the saplings are developing well, and we are preparing for planting at the start of the rainy season, scheduled for the end of March 2026.
Fundraising Update
So far, we have successfully raised $6,348 USD toward the land preparation phase. We are deeply grateful for this support, which brings us significantly closer to our goal.
This update provides details about our first planting site.
First Planting Site Information
Country: Rwanda
District: Rulindo
Sector: Burega
Cell: Butangamundu
Village: Buyoga
Location (Plus Code): 723X+P5V Mugambazi, Rwanda
The site is located in Butangamundu Cell, Burega Sector, Rulindo District. During the rainy season, the soil is soft and workable, while in the dry season it becomes very hard, making land preparation more difficult if delayed. Since the rainy season continues through the end of January, we plan to begin land preparation now to ensure planting can take place on schedule in March 2026.
Land Preparation Activities
Preparation of the 5-hectare site will involve:
Clearing shrubs, bushes, and unwanted vegetation
Constructing terraces due to the hilly terrain
Preparing planting holes for eucalyptus seedlings
Tree Planting Plan
Eucalyptus trees will be planted at a density of 2,000 trees per hectare.
Total number of trees: 10,000
(5 hectares × 2,000 trees per hectare)
Estimated Budget for 5 Hectares (USD)
Land clearing and weeding: $2,070
Terracing construction: $5,520
Labor, tools, and transportation: $1,104
Contingency (unforeseen expenses): $550
Total Estimated Budget: $9,244 USD
With $6,348 USD already raised, we kindly request your continued support to help close the remaining gap and allow us to begin land preparation immediately. Monthly recurring donations are also welcome and will greatly support the sustainability of this important work.
Thank you once again for your generosity and commitment to reforestation and environmental restoration in Rwanda.
With sincere appreciation,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
