Dear Patron,
We are pleased to share progress from our ongoing 50,000 Trees Project, an initiative aimed at restoring the environment, improving soil fertility, and strengthening community livelihoods in Northern Rwanda.
The photo below shows one of our team members carefully transplanting young seedlings into nursery bags; an essential early stage in tree production. Each seedling is placed into a prepared planting bag with a balanced soil mixture for strong root development. With consistent watering, shade management, and close monitoring, these seedlings will continue to grow until they reach the right stage for field planting.
In addition to transplanting, our team is actively maintaining the nursery by monitoring soil moisture, preparing additional seedling bags, and expanding the seedling beds to increase our production capacity.
Current Achievements
Nursery successfully established and operational
Planting bags prepared and filled with rich soil mix
First batch of seedlings transplanted and growing steadily
Shade protection installed to reduce heat stress
Daily watering and survival monitoring ongoing
Community members, including local youth, participating in nursery care
Seedling expansion continues toward full capacity
This progress brings us closer to our goal of planting 50,000 trees to support reforestation, climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and sustainable livelihoods for surrounding communities. Each newly transplanted seedling represents a future tree that will contribute to soil restoration, protect watersheds, and improve the regional ecosystem.
We are deeply grateful for your continued support. Your contribution is not only helping seedlings grow ; it is fueling hope, regeneration, and a greener future for Northern Rwanda.
Thank you for standing with us.
With sincere appreciation,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
