Dear Patrons,
I am delighted to share a promising update from our nurseries in Rulindo District. Just one month after our last report, the eucalyptus saplings are flourishing beautifully (see attached photos). Their vigorous growth is a testament to our dedicated nurturing efforts and brings us one step closer to realizing our ambitious goal: planting and maintaining 50,000 trees across six sectors in Rulindo District.
A Season of Strong Growth
Thanks to consistent watering, proper shading, and enriched soil care, the seedlings have grown strong and resilient. They have now reached the stage where they need to be transplanted into plastic bags, which will allow them to continue growing in a controlled environment before being planted in the field during the upcoming season. This step is essential to ensure they develop strong root systems and are ready to thrive once moved to their permanent locations.
Why This Work Matters
Each sapling represents more than a future tree—it symbolizes:
Restored forests to combat deforestation
Protected soils to prevent erosion
Climate resilience for vulnerable communities
Sustainable livelihoods for local families
Your continued support is driving real, lasting change in Rwanda’s rural landscapes.
How You Can Help Sustain This Momentum
This success is only possible because of your generosity. To ensure these young trees grow into strong, life-giving forests, we kindly ask you to continue supporting this vital work. Ongoing contributions—no matter the size—enable us to:
Maintain and care for the nurseries through the next stage
Transplant seedlings into plastic bags and continue nurturing them
Engage local communities and schools in the planting process
Ensure tree survival through consistent follow-up and monitoring
Together, We Are Planting the Future
On behalf of RWAYDAVO and the communities of Rulindo, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your commitment and care. With your partnership, these saplings will grow into resilient forests—protecting the land and empowering generations to come.
With sincere gratitude,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
