Beside regular patient visits of volunteers during July and August we realized this events:
In June, puppet theater Na-hácek went to see children in the Paediatric Surgery and Traumatology with a funny story about a bear who would like to become beardad and asks the animals around them how to do it ... puppet show with music based on the book by Medvediv Wolf Erlbrucha amused children and parents, simply even children who cannot walk came - into the playroom they were transported with their bed!
For a change to children hospitalized at Children's psychiatry ward group of young musicians, called Pro radost, came to make their stay more pleasant in July. To singing familiar request song engage children and nurses and the time spent together was really nice.
On Thursday July 25, we gathered at the pond in Thomayer hospital, where we informally thanked our volunteers and contact persons. Roasting sausages, various games and competitions was ready for all people. The whole evening was sweeten by guitar music playing by three volunteers.
Everyone was excited about the new addition to the animals with which volunteers go to visit patients within a zootherapy. It became a hedgehog called Bubble. It's a four-toed hedgehog and has soft spines so that can be stroke and doesn't prick anyone. His owner, volunteer Eva, visits children and seniors patients with him and Bubble immediately became very popular visitor.
For the volunteers we prepared a seminar focusing on the most common reasons for children hospitalization at the Department of Children's Neurology and nursing care. It's often an epilepsy, and because the seminar was visited by many volunteers from the Children's Neurology, most questions in the debate was address to this disease. A nurse, Andrea Kulichová has been working at the ward for many years, she gladly replied to the questions and thanks to her information helped to mitigate the volunteers' concerns, what to do in case of an epileptic seizure.
For employees' children we prepared suburban camp "Om Sri Ram, or else from the story into the story." in the last week of holidays. The camp was attended by 28 children aged 6-12 years old. For children was made a camp game, in which children help storytellers who, thanks to the curse of the evil demon, completely forgot all the fairy tales that he taught throughout his live. This curse can be broken only if every evening of the following day he tells story from another country. But because he doesn't know any of them any longer and his health will not allow him travel to distant lands, there is only one thing which can save him and it is the group of valiant young adventurers who will help him find an interesting story every day. The camp game was creative, physical and full of new experiences, so the children were sorry that it ended.
