We have a lot of work in Licorice around Christmas because we try to patients and staff of Thomayer hospital to enjoyed this time.
In November volunteers and employees could relax during creation of angels from pedig. The next workshop was held at the Pediatric clinic for pediatric patients. They enjoyed a lot of fun when they was creating knitted octopuses.
December launched a Christmas atmosphere at the Pediatric Neurology ward where children with parents made Advent wreaths and decorations from different materials. The Clinic of Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology held two performances. Magician Ondrej came to show his magic tricks and puppet theater group “On-hook” played the Christmas tale about Baby Jesus. No children from the Child psychiatry ward were fooled because group of musicians named “For-joy” came to play and sing familiar songs and carols. We have been organized St. Nicholas day already 12 years. This time it was created eight groups of St. Nicholases, the angels and the devils, who delighted children and adults at 7 hospital wards. They gave away fruit and candy. In the end, in the hospital chapel we thanked all the volunteers, hospital management and Licorice friends without whom we would not exist. Followed by a reception and a concert of Czech Christmas Mass by Jakub Jan Ryba, everyone really enjoyed the evening and left full of festive mood.
In January workshops for mothers of hospitalized children continued at the Pediatric Neurology ward and a new piano performance took place at the Geriatrics and aftercare ward.
