During December to February we implemented under the program "In hospital with Lekorice" these actions.
In this period the volunteer program continued with regular visits by volunteers on the hospital wards. Within regular volunteer program volunteers spent 418 hours with children and adult patients during this period.
One of the largest one-off event in December belonged to St. Nicholas for patients, from almost all inpatient wards. On December 5, when we celebrate St. Nicholas Day, volunteers created 8 groups of devils, angels and Nicholas, who visited adult and children patients. They visited about 500 patients and they were handing out small toys and fruits to children and greetings and small ornaments to adults.
In December, the art workshops, where patients decorated gingerbreads or made Christmas wreaths and Christmas decorations, was realized. 4 workshops were realized on the paediatric wards - the child neurology, the paediatric clinic on the Child Psychiatry and the Department of Paediatric Surgery and Traumatology. Another two workshops were on geriatrics ward.
The volunteers meeting with the hospital management is one of the greatest appreciation of volunteers. On this solemn meeting, which is always at the beginning of December, the hospital management thanks to the volunteers who with this event appreciates the work which volunteers do for the hospital. At the meeting, volunteers also receive small gifts and flowers for their volunteer activities.
Total 4 musical performances took place on the wards for adults. There performed children from kindergarten, elementary school and music schools. The magican had two performances on the pediatric wards, all the kids just loved him.
Corporate volunteers helped to the geriatric ward, where they put some pictures on the walls and then they embellished bathroom on the paediatrics ward.
3 art workshops were also prepared for staff and volunteers.
We would like to thank all donors for their contributions in 2014. Thanks to them we were able to train 15 volunteers also pay for insurance for their regular activities.
For additional financial contributions we are going to buy art supplies for creative workshops, as well as aids for dogs who go along with volunteers visit patients on a hospital ward.
