The Hour of Code at department of Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
The idea that IT is fun, creative and easy to reach for everyone, that is the idea that Microsoft company brought to Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The programme is entitled as Hour of Code.
On 10. 1. 2019 volunteers of Microsoft shared this idea with the children at the hospital. The children had the opportunity to try computer programming and when the lesson was over they received a certificate to verify that they successfully completed the lesson.
Main organizer of this event is Code.org NGO that focuses on spreading the word about IT and helping with its promotion to bring more attention to this topic.
Magician at the department of Child Surgery
Spells and magic was the way that Magician Ondra used to enchant his audience at the department of Department of Child Surgery. The Atmosphere from the place would be like this: It is 12th February and at the Department of Child Surgery, there are beds and chairs with sitting children on them and awaiting the magician who has been visiting this department for several years.
The children was not only watching the show, but they also attended, since the magician needed to have some helpers. As a reward for the great support magician received he made for children an animals made of balloons and gave them special magical pexeso game.
We were really glad that this event helped not only the children at the department but we have positive feedback also from the parent accompanying their children.
Knitting baskets for hospital staff members
All of us are probably well aware about the fact that hospital staff work is extremely difficult and that it is always a good idea to find a way how the staff can get some relief and find a source to refuel their energy. So we have chosen a creative workshop to try to do some fine a restful activity for the staff. At the end of the day after relaxing activity of making baskets (decorative and practical) all the attenders could take their product to their homes.
In cooperation with Mrs. Vánová we could prepare such an activity and so the members of hospital staff could together enjoy a pleasant time and the opportunity to cut themselves from the stressful for a while and bring back to home new piece of fine decoration.
