Linda has been communicating by email with a Pathways advocate for months. She loves her husband but cannot take his abuse. Linda's husband is in the military and she is an accompanying spouse overseas. She has been concerned that her husband will be in a lot of trouble if she reports the violence.
Over time, Linda decided that she wanted to come home to the USA so she can be safe without compromising her husband's military career.
We honor the very difficult decision Linda had to make for herself. She is back at home and considering what her next steps will be.
Without your donations we would not be able to take the weeks and months of time necessary to help a victim navigate the decisions that are best for them in their situations.
Thank you for your support of our mission! The Pathways' Team.
Zyanya is a civilian wife accompanying her American military husband abroad. Their marriage has been difficult overseas. Zyanya's husband becomes violent when he drinks alcohol. At first it was once in a while. But now at least once a week, he comes home after drinking, insults her, accuses her of having affairs, then demands sex and if she doesn't comply, he will become physically violent.
He apologizes the next morning, cries and swears it will never happen again, But it does, over and over again.
Zyanya loves her husband but she is done being abused. Pathways' helped Zyanya understand her options and helped her return home to the USA.
Her husband was furious she left but has now agreed to get help for the drinking and the violence.
Zyanya is thankful for all of the help Pathways' provided as she works through life back at home while her husband receives treatment.
Thank you for helping Zyanya! The Pathways' Team.
For an abused American man in the military overseas, reaching our for help can be one of the hardest things he has to do.
Dan is no exception. He loves his wife and has tried his best to help her with her addiction issues. His biggest concern was for his son Liam. His wife would become verbally abusive and neglect Liam, One day she left the house and left Liam alone.
That was the final straw for Dan. He reached out via email to Pathways for help. One of our advocates worked with Dan and connected him to the resources necessary for him to keep Liam safe. Dan hopes his wife will get the help she needs but right now, his priority is raising Liam in a safe home.
We truly appeciate your donations that help keep Military victims of abuse abroad.

Lacey has been suffering from verbal and emotional abuse from her husband in the military for years. She has enjoyed living in England and has done her best to keep her marriage together but she just couldn't take his verbal tirades anymore.
Lacey finally gave her husband an ultimatum. Either he gets anger management counseling or she was leaving. For the first time he hit her, telling her she will never leave him.
When Lacey called Pathways' she was looking for guidance on what her options were as a civilian accompanying spouse of an American military member abroad. We gave her the information she needed to help her decide what the best course of action would be for herself.
Lacey is back in the USA and is very grateful to donors like you who enable Pathways to provide critical services every day. A big Thank you from Lacey and from Pathways!
Anna was so excited to move to Italy to accompany her military husband. She had always wanted to travel and live abroad. She knew her husband could be moody but he was never abusive.
Once they arrived in Italy his behavior slowly started to change. He began questioning where she had been and who she was with. No matter how much Anna accounted for her time taking Italian language lessons, having coffee with other civilian military wives or volunteering, he would get angry and agitated.
After several incidents where he screamed and threw things at her this year, Anna reached her limits. She called our hotline and worked with one of our case managers for over a month.
Anna told her husband that either he needed to get help or she was leaving back home. He agreed to get help. We are still working with Anna as she and her husband move through this process.
Thank you for helping us help victims of family violence in the military!
