Food shortages can leave families struggling not only to eat but also to recover. When household resources are limited, repeated hunger can make it harder for families to rebuild their livelihoods and prepare for the next season.
Karamoja is experiencing serious food insecurity, with approximately 473,000 people facing Crisis or Emergency levels of acute food insecurity, according to the latest 2026 IPC assessment.
The crisis is also placing children at significant nutritional risk. Approximately 122,100 children aged 6–59 months are projected to face acute malnutrition, including around 30,600 children with severe acute malnutrition.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda is appealing to donors to support families through immediate food assistance and longer-term recovery.
Food packages can help households meet urgent needs. Agricultural support can help them begin rebuilding their capacity to produce food.
With donor support, we aim to contribute to seeds, farming knowledge, agricultural skills and appropriate productive resources for vulnerable households.
Objectives:
Help us support families through the crisis and toward recovery.
Your donation can help provide immediate relief while contributing to a stronger foundation for tomorrow.
