Quarterly Progress Report for November 2021 to January 2022

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Smart (previously referred to as Street) Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from November 2021 to January 2022 for these children :

Since covid 19 pandemic 1 time food is being provided to 1500 children daily and every Thursday sweets are distributed.

November 2021

1st November -      On the occasion of Diwali festival 2200 children were provided sweets and school material for studies.

13th November -    Ms. Gayatri, a donor of the project arranged program for 25 children from Karvenagar area at Erandwana area. Children sang, danced and a gave speeches. A magic show was arranged for the children

26th & 27TH November -         600 children from Sangvi, Dapodi, Mulanagar, Hadapsar, Phulenagar & Khadki were given footwear (slippers).

December 2021

1st December -      Families of 14 children from Phulenagar, Sangvi, areas are provided ration each month as they lost their fathers and it was difficult for their mothers to earn for their families.

13th December -    Children from Ramwadi, Devkarvasti were provided tins of protein powder. 9th & 10th class students are provided extra coaching to help them in their studies.

31st December -    Programs were arranged at Phulenagar, Sangvi, Mulanagar areas in memory of late Savitribai Phule, one of the pioneers of education for women.

January 2022

14th January -  On the occasion of Sankrant festival children from Mulanagar, Lamanvasti were given sweets.

26th January – On the occasion of India’s Republic day National flag was hosted in Sangvi & Ramwadi and the children were imparted information about this day and they were given sweets.

Quarterly Progress Report for August 2021 to October 2021

 

 

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Smart (previously referred to as Street) Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from August 2021 to October 2021 for these children :

 

Since covid 19 pandemic 1 time food is being provided to 1500 children daily and every Thursday sweets are distributed.

 

 

August 2021

13th August -         On the occasion of Nagpanchamia a program for children from Ramwadi was arranged.

14th August -         Drawing & painting completion was arranged on the occasion of forthcoming Independence day.

15th August -         Celebrated Independence day at Phulenagar vasti.

16th August -         500 children from Khadki, Sangvi & Vishrantwadi were given food supplements.

23rd August -         Arranged Raksha bandhan program at Mulanagar.

24th August -         Arranged Raksha bandhan program at Ramwadi vasti.

31st August -         Celebrated Dahi handi at Ramwadi.

September 2021

5th September -     Celebrated Teachers Day at Mulanagar vasti.

7th September -     Celebrated Teachers Day and arranged competition at Ramwadi.

October 2021

2nd October -   Celebrated Mahatma Gandhi anniversary at Ramwadi vasti.

12th October – 2 children from Paradhi nomadic tribe living at Vishrantwadi bus stop were admitted for Turner & Fitter course in ITI.

15th October -  A program was arranged on the occasion of Dasara in Devkar Potraj vasti at Ramwadi in which children danced and sang.

Quarterly Progress Report for May 2021 to July 2021

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Smart (previously referred to as Street) Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from May 2021 to April 2021 for these children :

Since covid 19 pandemic 1 time food is being provided to 1500 children daily and every Thursday sweets are distributed.

May 2021

1st May -          50 children were given ration kits.

4th May -         30 children from BRT Bus Stop at Vishrantwadi were provided masks and hygiene material.

5th May -         8 families of Paradhi tribe from BRT Bus Stop at Vishrantwadi were provided food grains.

65 families from Ramwadi were given immunity booster concoction.

8th May -         300 poor people from Pulgate and Seven Loves chowk were provided various types of nutritious food and sweets.

14th May -       1500 children from Vishrantwadi, Khadki, Ramwadi, Katraj, Hadapsar were given mangoes.

28th May -       47 families from Bhosari were provided food grains.

June 2021

7th June -         7 poor and needy families from Karvenagar area were provided ration kits enough for the entire month.

10th June -       80 nomadic tribe families from Dombari vasti & Potraj vasti were given food grains.

19th June -       200 watermelons were distributed in Ramwadi & Vishrantwadi area.

21st June -       200 children from Vishrantwadi & Khadki area were given bananas.

July 2021

6th July -          50 children from Karvenagar vasti were admitted in Karate class.

9th July -          Children from Sangvi area were taken for registration for Aadhar card previously received it. Children from Sangvi received Smart card.

10th July -        50 adolescent girls were taken for health check up.

15th July -        30 children from Sangvi were imparted information about ITI training.

16th July -        9 children from Karvenagar vasti were given new clothes.

20th July -        On the occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi a program of songs was arranged.

21st July -        Drawing & painting competition was arranged for children from Ramwadi.

24th July -        10th class pass children were taken to visit ITI institute.

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from February 2021 to April 2021 for these children :

February 2021

2nd February -       Due to reduced corona cases govt. opened schools for 5th to 10th classes. 800 to 900 street children were sent to schools. In addition support classes were restarted. Children were taught how to take care of self in schools.

2nd to 28th Feb -     2000 street children were provided daily 1 time food.

March 2021

8th March -            Mothers of the street children and other women from these locations were imparted information about Women’s Day, its importance and also session on how to overcome difficulties and challenges faced daily was organized.

13th March -          A donor donated books to 100 street children from Phulenagar location.

30th March -          Save the Children NGO arranged a session on hygiene and distributed masks and soaps to 1600 street children.

April 2021

4th April -              A donor donated ready to make food boxes to 300 street children from phulenagar.

21st April -            100 street children from Ramwadi location were given food boxes and masks.

1st to 30th April -         Appx. 1000 street children were provided daily food.

Quarterly Progress Report for November 2020 to January 2021

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from November 2020 to January 2021 for these children :

November 2020

2nd November -     150 street children from Sambhanagar locality of Kothrud area were given notebooks & pens.

5th November -      Due to Diwali festival and holidays children were taught to make traditional paper lanterns.

12th November -    300 street children from 120 families from Phulenagar area were provided food grains. In addition to this 35 families from Kathevasti area of Vishrantwadi and 40 tribal families from Ramwadi area were provided food grains.

18th November –   42 families from Ramwadi Devkar area were provided food grains.

Due to corona pandemic parents and children are forced to live at their homes and are unable to earn and were forced to remain hungry. Janaseva Foundation’s social workers are distributing 1 time meal to 2200 sponsored street children & 800 other street children.

December 2020

As the schools remained closed they started providing online education to their students, however, as these street children don’t have mobiles and other facilities they were unable to join in online education. Hence Janaseva Foundation provided support classes to such children in various locations while observing social distancing and hygiene.

18th December -    70 children from potraj tribe (which earns livelihood by doing road shows) were provided sweaters, sanitizers, masks, meals etc.

January 2021

4th January -          Foundation paid the final examination fee of seven 10th class students. In India 10th class exam is conducted by state board or other boards as per govt. of India and this is the end of school education and passed students seek admission in junior colleges or take admission for any vocational or technical training.

6th January -          150 students from Phulenagar area were imparted information on late Savitribai Phule, renowned social reformist and pioneer of school education of girls and women on the occasion of her birth anniversary. Speech competition was also arranged and prizes were awarded.

7th January -          Schools opened for 9th & 10th classes and hence street children were counseled to attend the school and were repeatedly counseled regarding how to remain safe in schools during this pandemic.

14th January -        On the occasion of Makar Sankrant children were provided information about this festive day and were given traditional sweets.

Not many activities could be conducted due to pandemic, however, children were counseled regarding hygiene and daily food, food grains for the needy, masks, sanitizers were distributed.

We are glad to inform that out of 2200 street children foundation has sponsored and their family members not a single one caught corona infection and we thank our social workers for providing counseling and information regarding covid infection, use of masks, sanitizers, washing hands with soaps frequently, social distancing and hygiene. They distributed masks, sanitizers, daily food, food grains etc. in spite of personal risk of getting infected with covid.
