Quarterly Progress Report May 2019 to July 2019

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from May 2019 to July 2019 for these children :

 

 May 2019

1st May - Competitors Foundation started providing diet service to 400 children residing in Vishrantwadi, Khadki and Lohgaon area through Iscon Temple, Kondhwa

1st May to 30th May -  Summer camps were started for 1700 children with the purpose of keeping children busy so that they would not resort to begging and also upgrade their skills. It consisted of outdoor activities like sports along with indoor activities like drawing,, craft, dance, making various articles from used bottles etc.

 

June 2019

1st to 15th June – Registration, Counseling and school admission process was initiated in the areas where new street children came to reside. Necessary documents were procured for those children who did not have any document necessary for school admission. All such children were given school admission on 16th June.

4th June - 250 children from Hadapsar area were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

9th June - 300 children from Vishrantwadi, Khadki, Lohgaon, Ramwadi and Tingrenagar areas were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

17th June – 300 children from Dapodi, Sangvi and Katraj areas were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

20th June – 200 children from Hadapsar, Karvenagar and Katraj areas were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

 

July 2019

In this month children who are not safe at their homes, not attending schools were moved to the hostel for street children at Katraj.

The newly admitted children are provided extra coaching from this month.

Quarterly Progress Report February 2019 to April 2019

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from February 2019 to April 2019 for these children :

 

February 2019

3rd February – One donor donated notebooks, pens, pencil for 120 children from Range Hills, Khadki, area. 10 children studying in 10th class were given school bags and educational material. There after they participated in group activities.

17th February – 20 children staying on the road at BRT Bust Stop Vishrantwadi area were given blankets, and hygienic material by a donor

19th February – Children from all locations were given information about great king Shivaji along with the information about various forts on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

25th February – Surya Barbal Group arranged hair cutting of 150 children from Phulenagar, Katevasti, BRT bus stop area.

28th February – On the occasion of Science Day children were given information about science and science tests / experiments were shown.

 

March 2019

3rd March – Health Check Up Camp for 150 children from Phulenagar, Katevasti, Lohgaon, BRT bus stop consisting or HB, General Check up, ENT checkup etc.

4th March – Team Building Games were arranged for the children from Katevasti along with drawing competition.

8th March – All the women from various locations were gathered together and were given information about Women’s Day and they were given eatables. Those women who were sending their children to schools clean were felicitated.

13th March – Annual (Final) exams began and the children were given pens and pencils.

14th March – Some children from Pudhari vasti passed with distinction the Pre-Scholarship exam for Std III and Std VI

21st March – All the social workers celebrated the festival of Holi with the children.

31st March – A program ‘Khushiyonke Rang’ was arranged for the 300 children and they participated in dance and were given school material.

 

April 2019

1st April – Children having their final exams were accompanied to school and were given guidance about exam paper.

3rd April – Master Rohan Garud was referred for removal of tonsils and was taken to Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital by our Social Worker wherein he was operated.

9th April – A girl from Range Hills was taken to Sassoon General Hospital for IQ Testing.

15th April – Surya Barbal Group arranged hair cutting of 60 children from Sangvi and Dapodi areas of Pune.

19th April – As most of the children finished their final exams 1 ½ months summer camp is arranged consisting or sports, crafts, drawing, dance, singing and study / academic activities.

Quarterly Progress Report November 2018 to January 2019

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from November 2018 to January 2019 for these children :

November 2018

12th November – Sweet distributed to children in all locations for Diwali festival .

17th November – Lions Clubs organized get together of children to celebrate Diwali festival. 70 street children participated and performed group dance.

18th & 25th November – Health check up of 450 children from Hadapsar area was done. General health check up and Hb check up was done.

December 2018

2nd December – 200 children were given school bags, blankets, sweaters, hygiene etc. in a function arranged at foundation’s Destitute Rehabilitation Centre, Bhilarewadi, Katraj, Pune.

Personnel from UBS visited foundation’s Destitute Rehabilitation Centre and given guidance to 50 street children in a function.

10th December – Health check up of 200 children from Phulenagar area was arranged and later they were given blankets.

13th December – Employees of Hasbro company visited Destitute Rehabilitation Centre and arranged programme for street children in which they arranged various games and prepared Pav Bhaji for the children.

January 2019

3rd January – 200 children from Hadapsar children were given blankets and hygiene material.

6th January – 600 children from 5 areas were given blankets and hygiene material.

8th November – 60 children from Range Hills, Khadki were given shoes.

19th January – 15 children were encouraged to take part in Interschool Sports Competition arranged by Cantonment Board of Khadki. They were given training for this. 12 children received either 1st or 2nd medals.

23rd January – Distribution of various materials to 100 children from Hignemala, Hadapsar by Mr. Rohit Pawar.

26th January – Children from all the locations were given information about Republic Day and India’s National Flag was hoisted.

Celebrating Independence Day

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from August 2018 to October 2018 for these children :

 

August 2018

15th August – Independence Day was celebrated. Students were informed about Independence Day, Struggle for independence and it’s importance.

19th August – Health Check Up camp was conducted for a batch of 200 students.

26th August – Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at various locations. Children were taught to make rakhis.

 

September 2018

3rd September – Dahi handi festival was celebrated with children. Dahi Handi was broken by the children with all the fervor. A earthen pot containing curd is tied up to a rope at various heights and it’s hangs there to be broken. Participants make a human ladder standing on shoulder of others and thus reach the earthen pot and break it. The winning team gets the price attached along with this pot.

15th September – Rotary Club had arranged eye check up, dental check up camp for 200 children. Group dance was arranged at the venue and children were taken to see decoration of Vaishno Devi.

17th September – On the occasion of Ganesh Festival which is one of the major festivals of state of Maharashtra and lasts for 10 days, children were taught to make clay idols of Lord Ganesha.

 

October 2018

14th October – Health Camp was arranged for 200 children at Dapodi, Pune in which along General Check UP Haemoglobin Check Up was also done.

30th October – Spectacles were given to those children who had undergone eye checkp and were advised spectacles.

Quarterly Progress Report May 2018 to Jul 2018

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from May 2018 to July 2018 for these children :

April / Mid April, May are the months of summer holidays for school children. Results are declared by April end or early May. Schools re-open in mid June. New school admissions are given in April / May & June.

1st May 31st May 2018

To keep the sponsored children engaged and for their further development and to keep their interest alive in school education we arranged month long summer camp in this period for 1200 street children. Our sports teacher arranged various indoor and outdoor sports activities, physical training. These children were taught to make paper flowers, dance, to make various articles from discarded material. They were taught about cleanliness and hygiene. To imbibe good manners and culture, special classes were arranged.

1st May – Indian Medical Council had arranged health check up camp for 200 street children wherein their general health check up, hemoglobin check up etc was done and the medicines were provided to the needy children.

12th May – 60 street children from Phulenagar location from Vishrantwadi area were taken to Rajiv Gandhi Zoo and were given information about the animals they saw in the zoo.

29th May – 70 street children from Khadki area of pune were taken on visit to Science park.

This summer camp was very useful for the children as they learnt many skills, their communication skills and observation skills improved.

1st to 30th June 2018

1st to 15 June – List of newly sponsored children for school admission was prepared and their parents were inquired about certificates needed for school admission.

Applied for their Birth certificates, Aadhar card (Unique Identification Card issued by Govt. of India) and passport size photos were taken.

Children were admitted in various schools.

Transport was arranged for children whose school was at long distance.

School material was distributed.

3rd June – Indian Medical Council (IMA) had arranged general health check up for further 200 street children. World Environment Day was celebrated involving these children where they did tree plantation. Children from Phulenagar performed musical dance and children from Khadki presented drama.

July 2018

Newly admitted children were counseled to regularly attend the school and are accompanied to the schools.

Arranged extra coaching wherein they are taught counting, recognizing alphabets, basic reading, writing and mathematical skills. This is very essential as most of these children had never attended the school and they are enrolled in various classes according to their age.

 

28th July – Reputed Marathi newspaper Lokmat and arranged magic show for these children.
