Quarterly Progress Report for August 2020 to October 2020

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from August 2020 to October 2020 for these children :

Nationwide lock down was imposed from 25th March 2020 in India and no activity was allowed, transportation was halted, schools closed down and people were asked to remain at home. In such situation poor people who are dependent on their daily income for each days food faced starvation and our children being street children are from this strata of the society. Therefore foundation started distributing food and ration kits, masks etc. taking due care.

The nationwise lockdown was lifted gradually and life is slowly returning to normalcy, however many have been left jobless.

August 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

1st August -     The result of students studying 10th class was declared by the State Boards. Student Mr. SaiKumar passed out with 81.80% marks. 30 students from all locations passed out with good marks. Foundation appreciated their success.

5th August -     6 families living on road from Vishrantwadi were provided ration kits. Similarly 20 families from Potraj community from Ramwadi are were provided ration kits.

18th August -   Approximately 1500 children were provided syrup for increasing haemoglobin level.

28th August – 4 students studying in 10th class were provided tab phones to study online.

September 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

5th September -           Being a teacher’s day students were given information regarding this day and they celebrated this day.

9th September -           50 children and their parents were given cloth face masks. 300 children and 150 parents from Vallabhnagar area were given syrup for haemoglobin level increase.

13th September -         53 families from Hadapsar were provided ration kits.

15th September -         200 children and few parents from Phulenagar area were provided readymade food. Children from Potraj community were given chocolates and masks and 30 families were provided ration kits.

19th September -         30 children from Cyprus Lokmanya High School were provided ration kits from the school by requesting the school.

October 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

Children are provided education by our teachers and their health is also taken care of.

11th October -  As the schools are not yet opened in the state, we requested the Principal of the Col. Binni Primary School, Cyprus for teaching the students at their locations and the Principal himself teaches 30 children for 2 hours daily at their locations.

Quarterly Progress Report for May 2020 to July 2020

May 2020

May is a month of 1½ month’s holiday period for schools. However, due to Covid pandemic the schools were shut down from March 2020. In period from April end and May end foundation arranges summer camp for the children to help them in their studies, development and to keep them occupied consisting of various activities. Due to Covid pandemic this year no such camp was organized.

Students were provided ready made food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

June 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

On 29th June 2020 all the children from Phulenagar area were given information about Covid virus and how to take care of self during this pandemic.

July 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

Support study class was conducted for the students. Children were imparted information regarding safety and taking care of self during the pandemic.

Quarterly Progress Report for Feb 2020 to Apr 2020

Therefore foundation started distributing food and ration kits, masks etc. taking due care.

February 2020

1st February – Health Check Up camp was arranged for 250 children from Phulenagar area. Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre sent their staff for this check up. Height, weight, HB, ENT, skin and general health check up was done. Children having health problems were given medicines and those needing further treatment were taken to hospital.

3rd February – Adolescent girls and women from Phulenagar area were begging on the road and rag picking. However, the alms they were getting was not sufficient for their households. Social worker from this area on behalf of Janaseva Foundation, Pune, gave them training of making cloth bags, baby clothes, alternating clothes etc.

9th February – Get together of children Devkar vasti from Ramwadi area was arranged wherein children participated in cooking activity and later on in various games and performed dance and ate the food they had cooked.

23rd February – Health Check Up camp was arranged for 250 children from Pandhremala and Hinganemala areas of Hadapsar. Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre sent their staff for this check up. Height, weight, HB, ENT, skin and general health check up was done. Children having health problems were given medicines and those needing further treatment were taken to hospital.

March 2020

1st March – 20 children and 12 parents living on the road were given clothes and sweets donated by a donor.

3rd March – Principal of a school distributed chocolates to the students to encourage them.

4th March – In the health camps arranged on 1st Feb and 23rd Feb 2020 a girl and a boy were found to malnourished were taken to the Dr. D.Y. Hospital and admitted there..

7th March –. Health Check Up camp was arranged for 200 children from Sangvi area. Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre sent their staff for this check up. Height, weight, HB, ENT, skin and general health check up was done. Children having health problems were given medicines and those needing further treatment were taken to hospital.

11th March – 20 children were taken for Aadhar enrollment.

28th March – All the social workers celebrated the festival of Holi with the children.

28th March – Due to lock down because of corona virus pandemic people remained at home and had do food to eat. Janaseva Foundation started distribution of meal for 300 parents and children donated by Iscon temple. Similarly 40 very poor families were provided ration for 15 days.

April 2020

1st April – 120 families from Phulenagar locality were given 10 kg rice and 4 kg split pigeon peas. Police Sub Inspector Mr. Patil and local corporator assisted us.

3rd April – 40 families were given Dettol soaps and information on corona virus and preventive measures was given to them.

4th April – 100 families from Ramwadi area were given ration.

6th April – Children and parents from Sangvi area and other 5 areas were given masks.

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from November 2019 to January 2020 for these children :

 

November 2019

1st November - To celebrate Diwali festival competition of making forts using clay was arranged for the children from Phulenagar and Kathe vasti locations. Total 9 forts were considered for the prize and the 3 winners were given medals at the hands of school headmaster specially invited to this completion.

8th November – UBS company invited 30 street children to it’s office. There was team building activity and motivational speech.

14th November – This day is celebrated as Children’s Day in India. On this day 300 children were taken to Peshve Park wherein they played games, participated in dance and enjoyed with Micky Mouse. Solar lamps were distributed to these children and they were given lunch.

18th November – 12 street children were given admission in foundation’s hostel as these children are from nomadic tribe and the parents continuously move from one place to another due to which children could not attend any school.

20th November – 15 children from Phulenagar area were taken to Khadki for enrollment for Aadhar card as this card is mandatory for almost all the services e.g. opening bank account, obtaining SIM card for mobile, school admissions etc.

 

December 2019

1st December – Used clothes were distributed to 500 children from Ramwadi, Phulenagar and Khadkit area. These children did not have clothes to wear.

12th December – Hasbro company arranged program for 50 street children and 100 children from Destitute Rehabilitation Centre. They are given lunch and various activities were organized for them. Some children participated in drama, dance etc.

20th December – 500 children were given blankets, sweaters, solar lamps, towels etc. in a function arranged in Niwara Oldage Homes at Navi Peth, Pune.

26th December – 300 street children were taken to foundation’s Destitute Rehabilitation Centre at Katraj, Pune, and were given blankets, sweaters, solar lamps, towels etc.

 

January 2020

7th January – 12street children from Tingre nagar were admitted in municipal school. These children are attending the school regularly.

8th January – Health Check Up camp was arranged 300 children and their parents in Pudhar vasti area of Katraj, Pune.

10th January – 12 children from Tingre nagar area who were admitted in school were given sweaters.

11th January – 250 children were given solar lamps, blankets, sweaters, towels and eatables in a program arranged in foundation’s Destitute Rehabilitation Centre at Bhilarewadi, Katraj, Pune.

25th January – Health Check Up of 200 children from Phulenagar area was done with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital who were invited for this camp. Their HB check up, Weight & Height measurement, General Check Up, ENT Screening etc was done

Quarterly Progress Report August 2019 to October 2019

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from August 2019 to October 2019 for these children :

August 2019

4th August – 60 street children sponsored by Accenture through CAF from Phulenagar and Kathe vasti were provided school bags, raincoats etc. Children performed various activities on the occasion

16th August – UBS company arranged a session for 30 children including 11 children sponsored by Accenture during which children were imparted information about opening bank account, general knowledge. Children were asked questions and function ended with distribution of gifts to the children.

 

September 2019

Children from all the locations were encouraged to make idols of God Ganpati from shadu clay during Ganpati Festival which lasts for 10 days and idols of Ganpati are installed at many places.

5th Sep 2019 – Lions Club had organized health check up camp and entertainment program for 150 children.

13th Sep 2019 – Adolescent girls and women from Phulenagar area were given information on Family Planning and health problems faced by women.

21st Sep 2019 – UBS company had arranged 1 day training program for 60 children aged 12 – 18 at Range Hills School in which they were given information on welding, plumbing, electronics.

 

October 2019

2nd Oct 2019 – On the occasion of birth anniversary of mahatma Gandhi a rally from Shanivar wada to mahatma Gandhi statue was arranged for children in which 120 children participated.

25th Oct 2019 – 30 children from Devkar wasti from Ramwadi area were given sweets on behalf of Adv. Godse.

26th Oct 2019 – Fort making from clay competition was arranged for children from Phulenagar area.

25 children from Kate wasti area were given boxes of sweets and cloths on the occasion of Diwali festival.
