Dear friends, thank you for your dedication and continuous support. Your contribution makes enormous difference in the lives of children that we serve. In August through October, you donated $1,970 and we transferred this amount to Laura B., a 3-years-old diagnosed with neuroectodermal tumor of the spine.
Laura in the hospital
Laura grew up like any other child; she was active and liked playing with the other kindergarten kids. One day, she suddenly stopped speaking. Her left arm went numb. Parents rushed Laura to the doctors and found out that she had cancer in the spine. Ten chemotherapy sessions in Chisinau resulted in somewhat diminishing of the tumor but did not stop it from the growth. Parents were told to go to Turkey for the radiation therapy. They raised 2,000 euro and we helped them with the remaining 10,500 euro (your donation of $1,970 was part of this amount). Laura is now in a Turkish hospital and we hope that she comes home a healthy child that she once was.
When we were preparing this report, we also found that our project has received a $13,000 donation from VMware Foundation. What a perfect gift for Moldovan children in need! Thank you VMware for your warm thought! This money will be put towards the purchase of much needed endoscopic and dilatation equipment which will enable Moldovan doctors to perform advanced treatment and let our children stay for therapy at home. After some consideration, we have decided to roll up our new project Assistance to Pediatric Departments in Moldova to Surgeries and Medical Care for Moldovan Children. This way we can consolidate our efforts better and our donors will receive a chance to support us via one central cause.
We thank you for your great contribution once again and wish you and your loved ones a warm holiday season and a healthy new year!
