Congratulations on past holidays! We have good news that we would like to share with you.
Thanks to your continuing support we raised about $ 3000. These funds were used to pay the surgeries for Evod S and Nikita S .
Evod S is a boy with not an easy destiny. When he was 2 years old, his mother left him in the Baby Nursing home. She considered his son’s congenital heart disease as strong reason to do so. After 2 years, grandmother managed to get custody of Evod. Shortly after, he was operated. Since then, he needs constant medical monitoring and is not allowed to have any physical efforts. But restrictions could not influence his desire to play basketball and volleyball. Evod was smart enough to participate in the competitions, with his family not knowing about it, and hit the top position with his team.
Evod is a good pupil and wants to become a doctor. But his plan’s are being jeopardized by the sudden worsening of his vision. The boy was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma. He has been urgently operated, it seemed that everything went well. But, some months later, the situation worsens again. Due to the puberty related processes, he had a high intraocular tension, which caused again development of glaucoma. Now, one of his eye has only 0,03% vision.
Evod needs urgent operation on both eyes. Otherwise the changes will be irreversible, and will lead to the total blindness. Evod’s parents are not next to their son, the grandmother has a disability. She cares a lot for Evod, but does not have money to pay for the operation.
In the beginning of November Evod was urgently operated on one eye. The second intervention was in the end of December. All this is possible thanks to your support!
Another story is about Nikita S . His twin brother lived only 3 days. Now Nikita is 13. He is suffering from Infantile Cerebral Paralysis. He moves only in wheel chair. Despite such a serious disease, Nikita is very open and kind kid. He is studying at school and is doing very good there. He likes books about marine adventures and boats. His mother is very proud of him.
In august Nikita was consulted by doctors from Turner Institute in St. Petersburg. The news was not good: boy has developed serious deformation of both feet with progression of hyperextension in the knee articulations. Without needed measures his situation will worsen, and articulations can be destroyed. Nikita is already complaining about pain in the legs.
Doctors recommended surgery on both feet, followed by long rehabilitation. This operation is very important as it will stop articulations destruction and will give hope for being able to walk.
Irina is raising Nikita alone. Father does not communicate with his son and does not offer any kind of support. Grandpa- is their main help. Though, it is still not affordable for them to cover the cost of operation. Nikita’s mother is appealing to all warm hearted people for support! She is grateful for any kind of help!
A lot of people and organizations could not remain indifferent to Nikita’s circumstances. Nikita’s mother thanks with all the heart for the help to her son!
