When our organization was just establishing, a little girl became one of our first patients. Mihaela L., a 3-years-old diagnosed with eye cancer, was travelling to Germany every 3-4 months and was in dire need of the financial support. Her parents barely kept up with the expenses and their money was depleted at some point. Although we have not had a lot of funds at the beginning, we helped them as we could.
Three years later, Mihaela needed our help again. She developed cataract and had to go through two urgent surgeries that cost $1,000 each. Thanks to your support, we had money accumulated on our account and we used it towards Mihaela's operation. The first surgery was done in June and the second followed in July this year. The surgeries went well. Mihaela is waiting for new glasses and preparing for the school now.
Before the operation, Mihaela could not see in the dark. Now, she feels confident and is not afraid of darkness. We only wish that darkness never falls on her again. Once more, we thank you for your amazing contribution! Your help means light and brightness in these children’s lives.
