Another saved child!
Dear friends, thanks to your help, we raised about $ 660 in July – September. This money was used to pay the surgery for Stiwin M. The boy was born on January 31st 2015. When his mother was 30 weeks pregnant she had a viral infection, which caused pathology in the development of fetus. After being delivered the new born baby was diagnosed with esophageal atresia and spine anomaly. The little boy went through operation already in his first days of life. After, Stiwin was fed through a special probe. Unfortunately, doctors could not correct the esophagus defect during the first operation. Parents went to N.F. Filatov clinic in Moscow for help. In April the next operation was performed. Although it had high risk, it did go well without complications. After 9 days spent in reanimation department, the baby’s condition improved. He smiled more frequently. His parents were so happy to see their child feeling better. All bad memories from the past when Stiwin did not eat and the family desperately trying to find a way out of the difficult situation, remained in the past. Stiwin's condition was stable and now it was time to continue his spine and other treatment. Recently we received good news from Stiwin's parents. They returned from Moscow where Stiwin had the last operations such as the correction of the column pathology. During his visit to Moscow doctors removed gastrostoma (the opening in his belly for feeding purposes), which interfered with the boy's normal development. To make the spine muscles stronger Stiwin also had a special physiotherapy course. In November he will have one more trip to Moscow for a check up. The little boy is home now. His life changed a lot, he learnt to smile and feels much better. The doctors confirmed that rehabilitation goes very well. Stiwin is growing, becoming more and more active. There is no feeding problem anymore and he could finally taste the food and eat with pleasure. He is playful, smiling, and makes his parents happy and thankful. We pass their thank you on to you. Thank you so much for your care and support!
