This project raises funds for Moldovan children requiring advanced surgical and clinical care, including cardiac surgeries, congenital and acquired defects corrections, serious burn responses, eye surgeries and other treatments. The project also supports Moldovan children hospitals by purchasing and distributing advanced medical equipment and investing in training of medical staff.
Moldovan families are often unable to pay for costly critical surgeries and advanced treatment, which in many cases, need to be performed abroad. With costs climbing up to $15,000 - 20,000, such procedures become utterly inaccessible for majority of the families who earn about $150 in monthly income. Most of Moldovan children receive treatment at the state-run clinics. Despite the hard and dedicated work of hospital staff, these clinics often face shortages in medicines and medical equipment.
Funds raised through the project will be used for payment to the billing hospitals. This will ensure timely and uninterrupted treatment and will ease financial burden placed on families. Financial alleviation will also let families to focus on additional related costs such as meals, transportation, lodging not covered by this project. We also partner with Moldovan children hospitals to facilitate purchases of medical equipment much needed due to budget limitations and pressing demand.
Timely surgical care and advanced clinical treatment are crucial in many pediatric illnesses and conditions. When performed early and without disruption, such procedures may improve children's lives and help them become full and active members of their communities. By investing in medical equipment and training, we create another long-term impact. The advanced equipment will serve for years and let Moldovan children receive treatment at home.
