Dear friends,
your help provide us the possibility to continue supporting of severely ill children. We’d like to tell about two kids to whom we helped.
Ilinka G. is so pretty, sentimental and cute girl. She was an expected child, one of the twins. Pregnancy was normal until happened premature birth in 22 weeks. Tiny Maria and Ilinka were born with weight 1090 gr and 930 gr. Medical mistake (catheter was not ejected in time) caused necrosis of left hand and further fingers amputation when girl was only 3 weeks old. Ilinka have been handicapped for life. Unfortunately, Maria suffered of respiratory system disease incompatible with life and passed away being only 3 months old.
Ilinka continued fighting for survival… Doctors diagnosed cerebral palsy and muscle hypertone when Ilinka was 9 months old. A lot have to be done in order to cure girl's affections (Ilinka could not seat and stay in 9 months). Every month during two weeks her parents were doing massage and kinetoterapie. The girl began to walk, but her feet were srongly deformed. Ilinka endured muscle operation (Ulizibath method) on both legs at the age of 4 years.
In addition Ilinka suffered from strabismus. According to doctors prognosys disease would disappear over time. Only constant medical examination and special glasses were recommended. But at the age of 3 years girl’s parents have noticed Ilinka has problems with space orientations. Following the recommendations they brought daughter for medical examination at Moscow. After all investigations were diagnosed Hypermetropia of medium degree and primary atrophy of optic nerve. The vision in left eye is only 20%, right – 40%. The girl was operated. After two months Ilinka should get 10 days rehabilitation treatment. There are still 7 stages of an expensive treatment ahead and at least two operations on vision recovery. Neurologist consultation is also very necessary.
We wish Ilinka a quick recovery!
Another child is Vlad T.
Diagnosis: Congenital anomaly of development of the right ear (microtia of the third degree), external auditory canal atresia, conductive hearing loss
Vladik is the first-born child who was waited for more than 16 years. The happiness came but along with happiness came fear. The boy was born without a right ear, where there should be an auditory canal, is only a small lump. Vladik was diagnosed with: “Congenital anomaly of development of the right ear (microtia of the third degree), external auditory canal atresia, conductive hearing loss”. In Chisinau, there was only one answer to all questions about treatment: take care of the healthy ear and come to the audiogram regularly, and by the age of 10 you will have to think about plastic surgery.
Now Vladik is 6 years old. Unfortunately, he has speech delays. Doctors say that this is the consequences of that he hears only with his left ear. He has a poor sense of direction, can hardly determine where from is he called and from which side the car is going. Vladik communicates with the children, but sometimes they do not understand him because of poor development of speech.
In October, Vladik went to Kazakhstan for a conference, conducted by American doctors from Global Hearing Inc clinic of California Ear Institute – Dr.Roberson and Dr. Reinisch. At the conference, parents learned about the possibility of forming an ear canal, hearing restoration and auricular reconstruction from the modern high-tech material Medpor. On an individual consultation, after reviewing the results of all the examination, the doctors assured that Vlad has great chances to restore his hearing. The family is sure that this is the chance that will help Vladik to get an ear and a normal hearing. But the cost of the surgery was very high – $ 85,000. All alone, parents can not collect such an amount of money. Nevertheless, they paid already $ 5,000 to reserve the date of the operation. The operation is scheduled for May 1, 2018.
We wish Vladik soon recovery, strong health and much success in future!
And we would like to thank all of you who offered in time assistance for our beneficiary!
