Dear friends, thanks to your help, we raised about $ 400.This money was used to pay the surgery for Korina M. Diagnosis: post-traumatic cataract with complications. Vitreo.
Korina, who is the third child out of 5, once got a trauma while swinging on the playground. No one could thing that few years later the little girl will start having serious problem with her sight. Now Korina can not see with her left eye, and she is only 7. Nevertheless the girl can read good, and she is fond of English. Korina needs urgently an operation to remove cataract and to implant artificial crystalline lens. Doctors say that operation can not be postponed, if so the eye will have to be removed. Mother does not have money for this, she is raising her 5 children alone, she does not have a job, as there are no available working places in the village.
Some time ago Korina was urgently operated. The intention was to remove cataract and to implant artificial eye lens. During the intervention doctors realized that Korina had swelling cataract, her eye could burst any time. Surgeons did all they could, but intervention was too late and the chance was lost. Doctors could save the eye physically, but not functionally. She will not be able to see with it anymore.
Doctors removed cataract and vitreous body from the wounded eye. Korina and her mother are at home already. The girl feels good. In two weeks the control check up is planned.
We wish Korina to get well and thank all people who contributed and offered help. Thank you so much for your care and support!
