Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project providing solar energy to off-grid families. This initiative continue to be a success supporting poor families with energy that they are able to use and be productive especially during the early night time. Without alternative energy they will have no choice but to sleep and be inactive, wasting precious time. Children could no longer study during this time. This reporting period, we focused on providing alternative livelihood to families by using products in the farm that could otherwise have very little value. These are turmeric, lemongrass and moringa which is processed into organic tea for sale in the local market. Glad that we were able to source the equipment from a local supporter. We aim to include 47 families in this venture growing the crops and then processing and marketing them into tea products for the local market.

Again thank you very much for your generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous assistance to our project providing solar-powered lights to off-grid communities. This reporting period we are focusing our efforts to providing continuing assistance to previous beneficiaries of our solar lamps by assisting them in their livelihoods. With the solar lamps they are able to become productive for longer periods and thus it is imperative that livelihood opportunities will also improve. This time around we are focusing on the youth and providing them training in food processing with the vegetables they gather from their gardens. This is with the aim of marketing their surplus vegetables cooked already in order to generate additional income rather than when they sell the surplus raw. Thirty youth attended our training and we are happy to note that 22 of them are now starting their vegetable food selling business.

Hoping for your continuing generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

Soap distribution
Soap distribution

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project providing solar-powered lights for off-grid families. This reporting period we decided to provide our solar-lamp beneficiaries with soap which was donated to us from our partner in Hongkong. Our partner collects soap from hotels and have volunteers clean and prepare them for distribution to requesting groups. Most often, families living in off-grid communities have also less access to water and sanitation facilities and soap for bathing is often a luxury to them. This is indeed a great opportunity and we are able to provide soap to 300 families in this manner.

Hoping for your continuing support.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing solar lamps to off-grid communities. This project continue to be of urgent importance to communities without electric connection because it enable families to continue on with their activities even if it is already early night. Children can study and the rest of the family members can do productive activities. Supply of sturdy solar lamps is not difficult to procure and our approach now in distributing the lamps is to get repayments from the beneficiaries with the cost of the lamp. In this way are able to assist additional beneficiaries from the reflows. Aside from the lamp distribution, this reporting period we train 75 youth members of family-recipients in vegetable gardening using open spaces in their backyard. In this way the family can have fresh vegetables the whole year round.

Again thank you very much for your generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

distribution of piglets

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support providing solar lamps to very poor families living off-grid. The project is indeed very important especially for children in school who needs to study at night as well as for parents to do chores and livelihood activities. During this reporting period, we expanded the impact of the project by providing small farm-based livelihoods to 72 beneficiaries living in 2 remote villages here by providing them with piglets that they will raise for the market. Piglets are easy to raise and they can be fed with organic materials found around the farm such as root crops, nitrogenous leaves and kitchen waste. Aside from the piglets, we also provided them with vegetable seeds that they can raise in order to improve their nutrition and income. Small is beautiful is the keyword here and the ripples of impact is indeed very encouraging.

Again thank you very much for your generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora
